Be My Mate

Chapter 10- Two Steps Ahead

Chapter 10- Two Steps Ahead

Sabrina's POV

"That's two more warriors complaining of a voice inside their head!" I shout out, annoyance and frustration coming off of me in waves.

"Do you think he's the reason for Josey being like that?" Evan asks as Hunter scoffs.

"It has to be him. What other reason is there?" Anthony says.

"Evan, what are the elders saying about this? What do we do with the ashes?" I ask as we all turn to face Evan.

"Well, there's not much we can do. The person that cursed Cayden is dead and is the only one that can reverse it." Evan responds.

"And he will stop at nothing to be brought back. Blood sucking piece of shit!" I whisper yell but everyone heard me.

"You forget your sister is one too?" Evan asks and I groan out loud.

"No. She can survive on a werewolf diet." I retort.

"I say we scatter his ashes to the four corners of the earth or just everywhere. In the ocean, untouched islands and so on. Then we keep the last bit, secure it just in case he is able to get the rest, which I doubt." Hunter suggests and we all remain silent.

"Sabrina! We have to get ready for your brothers coronation." Mother comes flying in, charging towards me.

"We have more pressing matters mother and I can meet you there. I won't be late, I promise." I say and she rolls her eyes at me.

"Fine. I told Josey to meet me in your room so finish up, this is an important day for your brother." She says and this time, I roll my eyes.

Cj couldn't care about this event. I'm sure he's counting down the hours to the end of the day so he can go about laying plans and rules in place.

"I'll be there soon." I say and she doesn't respond but turns around, running out.

We all chuckle at her diva departure before going back to grim faces as the matter at hand hangs in the air.

"I agree with dad. We can each go and throw his ashes all over and have Sabrina secure the last bit, where nobody can know the location of it. Making sure nobody can find it." Anthony says and I nod at him.

"Then we are in agreement?" I ask and they all nod their heads.

I take the urn and three velvet pouch bags, placing them on my table. Anthony walks up to help me as we pour the ashes in each pouch, leaving enough in the urn for safe keeping. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

"Evan, you will go to the ocean, the Pacific Ocean to be exact and scatter these ashes there. Anthony, you will go to the amazon forest and do the same. Dad, you will go to the Antarctic desert and scatter these ashes there. While you're all gone, I'll put this away." I say as I hand each of them the pouches and they nod their heads in agreement.

As Anthony closes my door being the last to leave, I walk over to it to lock it. Taking the urn with me, walking in to my most precious room. The room where the beautiful pond is, where all my lost souls

are, where I saved the twins.

I make sure to lock the door before kneeling down in front of the pond. I cover the urn in plastic before placing it in to the pond. Nobody will be able to retrieve it here because only I can touch the water, making it the only place safe from Josey or anyone that tries to revive the vampire king.

I hear commotion in my office, which has me running for the door. I open it to see my office door broken down and Josey in my office looking frantic.

"Josey, why'd you have to break my door to enter?" I ask. Her eyes bulge out the second she sees me.

"Where is it?" She asks, ignoring my question.

"Where is what?" I ask. She grins menacingly at me, sending shivers down my spine.

This is not my sister, not like this.

"You know what I came for so give it to me." Josey says to me and I chuckle lightly.

"Well, you're too late. I have scattered the ashes all over this realm and the earth. You think the vampire king only got to you? He's had everyone feeling crazy Jose and as the moon goddess, I swore to protect my people. I will not let that filth corrupt anyone ever again and he will not be brought back, I mean it." I say.

Josey starts pacing up and down, stealing glances at me as she pulls her hair.

"You don't get it Sabrina. None of you get it!" She says as Hunter, Anthony and Evan return, walking through the broken door frame.

"What don't we get?" Anthony asks. Josey snapping her head in his direction.

"You, future heir to the first family fortune and fame. Born in to it, don't have to work for shit. Then there's dear old sister, our moon goddess. I mean who can compete? You were both born for these roles, your birthright. What about hybrid Josey? The only vampire on earth and ex luna. I need Cayden! I want my own kingdom to rule because what pack will accept a vampire as ruler? Let's be honest here." She says.

"Josey, this is no competition. You think I want this? You have no idea how bad I want your freedom." I say and she giggles at my words.

"Oh boo hoo spoiled brat." She says and I scoff at her.

"You think I have it good Josey? You think Anthony will have it easy? Here. Feel what I feel. I feel your sorrow and pain, I feel Anthony's anxiety and impatience. I feel Hunter's guilt and I feel mother's overwhelming regret that she hides so well. I feel the emotions of every wolf I come in contact with and there you go. Feel." I say releasing all the emotions running through me.

Josey falls to her knees.

"Then there's my pain. The pain of losing Xander. Goddess, it's awful. The pain of seeing my sister like this, the pain of seeing my father in pain. The gaping hole in my soul for saving your mates to save your wolf. I gave a part of myself to save you. Saving your mates came at a great cost to me but I'm not here complaining because I don't have the time to grieve the loss of everything." I say releasing my pain on her and she cries out in pain.

I pull back quickly, the pain hitting me so hard. I shake it off and look at Josey who was still on her knees.

"I did not ask for this. This birthright is not all glitz and glamor Josey, the big castle like home and vast fortune is to make up for being the moon goddess. I'm immortal, which means I will watch Cj grow old and die, I don't know about you but remember your wolf will age and die, taking a part of you away.

Your wolf has to die, leaving you as a vampire and I don't even know what that will do to your body. I will have a daughter, who will grow up to take after me. The oh so wonderful birthright of pain and loss passed down to my child." I say as Josey looks up to look in to my eyes.

"If you bring Cayden back to life, you could give birth to a hybrid that will almost render the werewolf community extinct until Adrastos kills him. You are the daughter of a demigod and an earthling, your child might not have the same strength as you because you don't have enough of the DNA to make another you. Harsh, I know but I had to do my homework as the moon goddess. My job is to protect my kind, you and everyone else because you are a wolf first before anything else. I won't let your need and desire to be queen or compete get in the way of keeping my people safe or put in harm's way years from now. Cayden is heartless and insatiable, his bloodlust knows no limit and even if he makes you his queen, are you so sure he will be faithful? Because a vampire's nature is to overindulge in anything and everything and let's not forget how you first met him. Josey, I love you. You're my sister and I do, I really feel your pain and agony but you are stronger than this. Cayden is just ashes, you can silence him but you don't want to." I say as I walk up to her.

I use both of my arms to help her stand.

"You want to find meaning in your life? Something to fight for? Fight for yourself. Fight for your sanity. You are a Trent Josey, you can't find your path if you're in this state. Yes, take a day to cry and let it all out but you get back at it the next day. You are allowed to break down and take a minute to feel, goddess I wish I could but don't forget who you are and who is in your corner." I say but Josey just nods her head and runs out of my office with her vampire speed.

I know it already, I knew it before I even uttered the words to her that it will take more than words to get my sister back.

"Do you think she will give up?" Evan asks and I chuckle.

"If anything, I think I just added fuel to her burning flame. Josey will stop at nothing to bring Cayden back." I say smiling at the thought of my sister's tenacity.

"And you're smiling because?" Anthony asks me.

"I'm smiling because it just dawned on me that we have not completely lost her. She's in there somewhere and I will pull her out." I say proudly.

"His ashes are scattered now. Deep in the Pacific Ocean for goddess sake! How will she bring him back?" Hunter asks.

"Goddess knows but we are not going to sit by and find out. Evan have my sister discreetly followed. I want warriors that surpass her in strength to do the job because she will try to attack them and have them send hourly reports to Anthony. If she attacks, they need to report that too." I say and Evan nods his head in agreement before walking out of my office.

"Oh and Evan?" I call out before he props his head in the office.

"Have someone fix my door." I request.

"Already on it." He says before walking away.

"Anthony, I need you to have some of your well trained warriors to follow her as well. Dad trained them so they will be better at handling Josey." I say.

"Sure thing. How many do you need?" He asks.

"You can decide on that. Dad, I need you to stay here while we go to CJ's coronation. I can't tell you where I hid the urn but I have a feeling Josey will try to find it." I say.

"Ah bummer. Your mother already picked out my tux but okay fine. You explain to her why I can't attend your brother's crowning." He says before making himself comfortable on my chair.

I giggle as I make my way out.

"Don't you worry about mother." I say as I make my way to get dressed and ready for my brother's big day.

Challenges every damn day but Cayden will not win this one.

'He won't give up that easily.' Athena says to me.

"I don't expect him to but I will fight him. We silenced him, he can't do much damage to me at this point." I say back to my wolf.

Yes, Cayden tried us but he failed. I'm not your ordinary wolf, I'm the fucken moon goddess and since he has not learned anything about my capabilities, I'll give him another chance to experience my true form and nature.

I'm Sabrina 2.0...

Well trained and will be the official moon goddess in the days to come.. If he thought I was strong then, he's in for the surprise of a lifetime.
