Chapter 94 (Clare)

Chapter 94 (Clare)

She huffed, “gee whizz, Whoa, okay.”

She bent down to touch her knees and stood up again, “No wonder you so damn gorgeous.” She exhaled, showing her relief as she looked at him, standing there.

His mouth twitched with the barest hint of a smile, amusement, she amused him. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

“No.” the smile wiped off his face, “I actually exist.”

This guy seemed like a real hard-ass, Clare thought, as she shook her head in exasperation, did he forget who he was talking to! “I know you exist dummy, or should I say, William. How are you here? I… how can I talk to you, where are you. I need you, things are happening and I need you.”

“I know, but now’s not the time, Princess.” His voice deeper, eyes seethed with that blank confident expression.

She ignored him, “When William, why do I feel like this, I don’t know you well enough, and we just did all that, as though I know you.” She pointed toward the bed, as her face turned Crimson.

“You will, when the time is right, I will be by your side. But now I don’t have much time princess.” He was so relaxed, calm when she was flipping out, “You are quite the curious one, aren’t you, just like your mother.”

“Which one?”

“Franchesca, since she raised you I presume it is only fitting, she wears the title.”

“You look so much younger, not a day older than 25, still older than me. I…I can’t believe it, you here.” She brushed the thought off, “How do you know her, My mother.”

“I am the one who trained her.”

He looked like someone charming and petrifying dangerous at the same time, a male who the woman would kill for, “Your gravest threat, is lurking in your midst, princess.”

She knew it was him, her William, well not HER William. She doubted he would want the title, he was clearly too powerful to be hers, “I want that title, don't ever think otherwise princess, you are mine, Clare.” Clare’s eyes widened, at his confession, it was so resolute. Final.

He paused, eyes glittering, dark, “The soul thief, as I would call him, hides their true nature, I believe he has the protection of a powerful Tempter. I’m a little preoccupied at the moment so you are going to have to save yourself for now.”

She could hear his tone was all business, “Everyone seems to think it's Azazel” she said.

“No, Azazy-el isn’t strong enough yet and he is an ally, this one is stronger than Kalbreal. The others around you are unable to sense him, he grows stronger by the take, don’t be fooled by his charms, he waits patiently for your Legacies to be drawn back to you, it has to be willed to him unless he is of a higher rank than an Angel.”

“Do you know who he is?” She asked and he dropped his eyes off her for a second, it was the longest second of her life.

He looked at the blue pentagram, Clare followed his eyes still a few feet away from him, but she could see it fading, “Your mother had something with her, the night before she died, a necklace, it looks like this,” he said pointing to the mirror, she could see an amulet. A yellow diamond, with a shimmering substance inside it, she moved closer. He moved closer to her, his shoulder touched the back of her hair, he was so tall.

“You need to find the necklace before anyone else does.” His voice was subtle, but strong in its power, “Try to act normal, but be wary, my princess.”

“What’s all this about? what does it do?” She asked.

“Find it, and you will find out.”

He started walking away, “One more thing,” eyes changing before her very own, jaw tight, perfectly bridged nose slightly flared, but alluring nonetheless. The dirt on his face not merely enough to hide his captivating blue gaze, “If he is not of your blood, you will not touch him, understood.”

His cold vision seethed with hers, a challenge to deny him. She’d never seen possessiveness before now, but she thrilled it. She wanted this from him, as crazy as it sounded, she wanted him to want her, this stranger to her eyes, but she didn’t agree. He was just that, a stranger to her eyes, she needed him with her, “No, I don’t understand, you being ridiculous, come to me, and tell me that, maybe I’ll listen. I’ll try and find the necklace but that’s it.”

His expression brazen with anger, his whole mood darkening, “No one says no to me, don't deny me this.” She stared him in the face, wanting to kiss him, bite his lips, instead she bit the corner of her bottom one, “I just did.”

It was a declaration, but one of pure subtlety, “We will discuss this matter in person, princess, and believe me when I say that you would wish you said yes.”

She widened her small green eyes, “Fine,” pause “but answer me one question.”

“Considering your defiance, I say not.”

He moved toward the door she gripped his arm, he tensed, her head tilted to face him, “Why are you helping me, risking your life?”

“I too have picked a side, and who said I was risking my life? I’m saving it.” He walked through the door and slammed it shut. He was pissed, for a guy from her dreams.
