Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 102

Chapter 102

Chapter 102 Mad at Me for Having a Mistress? Nicole was taken aback when she saw Clarissa. Then,

she rolled her eyes.

Clarissa caught this, but she didn’t know what she had done to deserve that reaction.

“Nicole, did you get into the audit department?” Clarissa asked.

Ever since Clarissa decided not to transfer to the audit department, she stopped paying attention to its

goings on. She was afraid that the more attention she paid to it, the more she would want to go.

“How could I possibly join your audit department? There’s no way I could’ve got in, thanks to you!”

Nicole spat.

“So, you didn’t get in?” Clarissa asked. She didn’t get it Why couldn’t Nicole just give her a straight

answer? Why did Nicole have to be so sarcastic?

Nicole didn’t answer Clarissa, choosing to scoff and brush past Clarissa instead.

Clarissa heard Nicole’s voice ring out behind her. “Mr. Moore, I’m here to collect my transcript. I saw

that I scored seventy-six. That’s considered pretty ligh, isn’t it?”

“It’s not bad.” Joseph handed her transcript to her.

“Is there anyone in our class who scored higher than me?” Nicole asked.

“Yes, Clarissa. She scored eighty-four.”

Nicole fell silent.

Clarissa didn’t hear the remainder of the conversation. She left.

When she got into Damien’s car, she asked him, “Didn’t Nicole Brow’n get into the audit department?”

“Do I have to pay attention to every single employee?” he asked in return.

Clarissa swallowed the rest of her questions. She supposed that Damien didn’t pay attention to these Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

things.

“Who did you collect your transcript from?” he asked.

Clarissa’s face turned red. Nothing had happened between her and Joseph, but every time Damien

asked her anything related to him, it sounded as if she had slept with Joseph. She mumbled, “One of

the teachers at the administrative office.”

Damien didn’t say anything. Who was she trying to trick? He had already seen Luke’s car.

The next day, Clarissa wore the same outfit to work. The moment she walked into the office, her

colleagues started whispering among themselves. “Wow, looks like we have to sit up and take notice of

a certain someone now. She used to dress so shabbily, and now she’s so chic.” “Don’t you remember

who she’s married to? It’s your own fault for not being capable enough to marry President Lawrence!”

“I bet President Lawrence was the one who paid for her outfit. Judging from the quality alone, they’re

not anything cheap. It probably cost several thousand dollars.” “Keep your voice down! We’ll have to

pay a fine of thirty dollars for gossiping!”

Clarissa had planned on ignoring the gossip as usual, but she never would’ve expected someone to try

to take a photo from underneath her skirt when she went to the State Taxation Administration to collect

some files in the afternoon. When she got off the bus, a lecher even tried to rub himself against her

cliest.

Feeling a mixture or embarrassment and rage, she pushed the blame onto her clothes. The way

Joseph had looked at her yesterday and the gossip she had overheard this morning made her want to

return the rest of the clothes

It wasn’t her style to spend so much money on clothes, anyway. She demanded money from Damien in

the heat of the moment, and she regretted it almost immediately after.

The next day, she wore hier own clothes and piled the remainder of the new clothes into Damien’s car,

wanting to get Lily to return them with her in the evening.

“Why are you bringing all these clothes along?” Damien glanced at the shopping bags in her hands.

“I’m going to return them. I don’t like them anymore.”

“Why did you buy them in the first place?” he asked.

She looked out the window. Because I was mad at you for having a mistress!

She didn’t say this out loud, though.

“Were you mad at me for having a mistress?” Damien asked.

This shocked Clarissa. How did he know everything?

She looked at him, horrified. “I…”

“I go to and fro from the company with you every day. Where would I find the time to do anything with

anyone?” he said calmly, his hands on the steering wheel.

That’s true. He goes straight home after work and barely leaves the house. He doesn’t seem to be

interested in any other women as well.’

At this thought, Clarissa couldn’t stop a small smile from curving her lips.

“Honestly, why do you want to return these clothes after spending so much on them? It’s not like

President Lawrence can’t afford them.” After work, Lily couldn’t help questioning Clarissa when she

saw all the shopping bags she was holding.

“He may be able to afford it, but I can’t live such an extravagant lise.”

They strolled through the shopping mall, each holding her own smoothie. Clarissa had already told

Damien to go home without her. Coincidentally, Luke and Emily happened to be in the same shopping

mall. Emily’s eyes were lookine around everywhere, but Luke couldn’t afford any of these things.

They spotted Clarissa at the same time. They walked over to see her returning the clothes, “Clarissa,

why are you returning perfectly fine clothes?” Luke sounded sarcastic. Emily was even more annoyed

to see Clarissa. Clothes like these cost at least 20,000 dollars, but Luke wouldn’t buy her a single one.

Joseph could afford to buy them, but he wouldn’t spare her a single glance. Clarissa, on the other

hand, was here to return these clothes. It pissed Emily off terribly. “I didn’t like them, so I’m returning

them.” Clarissa refused to speak to Luke or Emily. “You know, you look fantastic in these clothes. You’d

be the talk of the town,” Luke said.

“How do you know?” Clarissa frowned. She was currently wearing her usual clothes, “I guessed.

Something so expensive would look good on anyone.” Luke realized he had said too much and quickly

tried to cover his tracks. Clarissa ignored him and returned the clothes.

Once Luke was on his own, he called Joseph. “God, Damien’s a prick! He bought some clothes for

Clary, probably for her to look good when she collected her transcript. Now, he’s making her return

them even though she likes them. You know how girls like to dress up in pretty clothes and all. My

heart ached when I saw how reluctant she was to part with the clothes. If not for the fact that I couldn’t

afford them, do you think I’d allow my sister to suffer like that?”

“What did you say?” It was obvious that Luke had pushed the right buttons. Joseph was boiling with

rage at the thought of Clarissa being made to suffer in such a way. Wasn’t Damien filthy rich? Why was

he treating Clarissa so awfully?
