Chapter116 Her Children Has Nothing To Do With You
Her Children Has Nothing To Do With You
Ethan's aloof answer caused tension between him and Richard.
They were very different men, but both could attract attention on streets.
Ethan was an gentle and approachable doctor. Many girls fell for his alluring eyes. Richard was distant
and icy and his dark eyes were filled with the charm of a mature man.
At this moment, Pearl frowned slightly and moved half a step towards Ethan subconsciously.
She had known Ethan for years. He protected her as if she was his family. The only thing she could do
was not let him down.
"What's up? Just tell me now. Ethan should be here as well."
There was nothing more deadly than telling her old flame that she trusted her new love very much.
Richard remained silent for a long time before closing the door behind him.
"Okay, let him listen if he wants to. Pearl, I need to know the truth."
A period of time had passed since the Vitoria's birthday banquet, but he had remembered all the
information from Ted' investigation in his mind.
"What truth?" Pearl asked.
Even though Ethan was also there, Richard couldn't be bothered. He had to ask it.
"Did you study abroad seven years ago just because you were pregnant?"
"Yes."
This wasn't the first time Richard asked her this question. She had to face the truth from the past and
the truth had everything to do with Richard.
The reality was, if she'd known the incident was related to the Zellweger family before she went
abroad, she would never hided it from Richard.
However, everything had changed. Now Richard was no longer her boyfriend, but someone else's
fiancé.
When Pearl confirmed it, Richard secretly clenched his fists. "Who is the father?"
This was the question he really wanted to ask.
Richard was bothered by whether Pearl cheated on him for the past years. If so, who was the man?
During the five years of their relationship, they were almost inseparable. Hence, he never believed it
when Pearl said it was Stanley.
"It has nothing to do with you." Pearl looked him straight in the eye, which made Richard feel
angry. "It's my privacy. Whether for the sake of my children or my husband, I can't tell you."
The words "my husband" were like steel nails, fiercely stabbing into Richard's eardrums.
Seeing Richard being silent, Pearl said, "Are you done with your questions? I still need to work later."
As she spoke, she grabbed Ethan's arm. The waterproof bandaid on his wound wasn't put on properly,
so Pearl had to take it off and reapply it.
"I'm fine." Ethan looked as if he didn't care.
Pearl patted him on his wrist and said, "Don't move. It will be done soon."
The interaction between them was so natural as if Richard wasn't there.
Richard realised how preposterous it was of him to suddenly come here.
As he was about to leave, a nurse called Pearl and said that there was a patient she needed to check.
"Go. I'll be right here." Ethan said while waving his hand.
Pearl frowned and glanced at Richard from the corner of her eye. In the end, she walked straight past
him and said nothing.
Richard and Ethan were now left in the room.
As Pearl left, it was as if the tension had disappeared.
"Mr. Zellweger, did you come just to ask the questions?" Ethan smirk carried a hint of arrogance and
sarcasm. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Or you have anything else want to ask?"
His contemptuous tone made Richard's expression become even more indifferent.
His fist clenched again as he stared at Ethan. "Mr. Louise, You're so protective of her, not even willing
to leave. What are you worrying about?"
"Shouldn't I? I still remember what you did to my wife at the banquet."
Richard was drugged that time, but Ethan didn't mention anything about it. He only mentioned what he
did, which was the truth.
Richard still wanted to say something but he kept his mouth shut. Then he changed the subject. "That
was merely a misunderstanding. I'll send my apologies over someday."
"What about today? Zellweger, you came here out of nowhere and all you only asked was about the
past issues. It was really unnecessary, don't you think?" Ethan said.
His voice wasn't loud but sounded aggressive.
"The past?" There was a cold piercing look in Richard's eyes.
"Isn't it?" Ethan smiled. Even though he was only 30 years old, he still looked very young. His tone was
quite sarcastic. "It's been seven years, but you're still thinking about it."
Richard had never been criticised like this before. He was always the apple of everyone's eye based on
his family background and wealth. But he hadn't been angered by Ethan's words.
No one could ever faze him except for Pearl.
He calmly glanced at the desk, where were two bowls of instant noodles covered by notebooks.
As calm as ever, Richard said, "She didn't know you before she went abroad, as far as I know."
"So what?"
"So Bonny and Brandon have nothing to do with you."
