Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 420

Chapter 420

“Let’s pick this one.”

Mia pointed at a room positioned between the ones her mother and father had pointed out earlier. She

gave her reasons. “It’s facing the same direction as the master bedroom, so it gets plenty of sunlight.

It’s not too close or too far from the master bedroom. The room is spacious and suitable for the baby. It

would also be easy to remodel later on.”

Andre chuckled. “Sounds good to me.”

Andre was a man of action. After his wife had made her decision, he sent Mia the design plans for the

room next day. She received over a dozen diagrams.

Andre left all the household matters to his little wife, telling her without any pretense, “If you don’t want

to worry about this, you can always sweet-talk me. I won’t push you.”

There was not a hint of resistance in Mia’s eyes, only pure enthusiasm, as if she was about to embark

on a grand adventure.

Andre pinched her cheek affectionately. “Go ahead, have fun.”

Mia stayed at the Irvin family home for a few days. During this period, Naomi visited twice and Hansen

once. Mia was observed to be energetic and constantly on the go. Hansen thought his daughter-in-law

seemed like a mythical creature who could absorb the essence of the sun, moon, and earth, never

seeming to tire.

During her medical checkup, the doctor confirmed that there were no issues with her pregnancy; she

was just full of energy, probably due to her youth.

Naomi asked Madison, “Did you feel this energetic when you were pregnant with Mia and Cooper?”

Madison answered, “I didn’t have her stamina.” After a pause, she added, “Andre was worried she

might get bored, so he gave her a project to work on. That’s probably why she’s so full of energy.”

Construction had begun at Maplewood Estates. Due to the need for ventilation and the fact that Mia

would give birth in a few months, Andre was generous with his funding for the renovation. He insisted

on a quick completion.

During the day, Mia would visit various furniture stores to shop for baby furniture.

One day she was accompanied by her mother, and the next by Naomi. When the weekend came, Molly

also visited her. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

Unfortunately, both Molly and Mia were notorious for their driving skills, making their outings rather

inconvenient.

“Mia, let’s call our nephew,” suggested Molly.

Standing at the intersection, with Molly holding an umbrella over her head, Mia had just stepped out of

a store, using a promotional flyer handed to her to fan herself.

Mia answered, “But my husband doesn’t want us three to meet.”

Molly responded, “Don’t listen to your husband’s superstitions. We’re not some kind of plague. Every

time we meet, something bad happens? Besides, who would dare to get in our way in this heat?”

Mia, feeling the heat, agreed. “You make the call then.”

Molly promptly contacted Leo.

Leo retorted, “I knew you wanted something when you contacted me!” Nevertheless, he arrived in no

time.

Once they were in his car, Leo rolled down all the windows, letting Mia feel the heat for a bit before

gradually closing them to prevent her from catching a cold from the sudden temperature change.

“Where to?” asked Leo, rather annoyed.

Molly replied, “Majestic Dining Enclave.”

Leo asked again, “Who’s paying?”

Mia answered, “You are.”

Leo slapped the steering wheel in frustration. “What the hell did I owe you in my past life?!”

Molly retorted, “I’d also like to go back to our past lives and see what you actually owe us.”

Leo, now angry, drove to the police station.

After dropping one off, Leo drove to Cedillo Inc.

Watching the two men each leading their woman away, Leo waved his hand dismissively. “Goodbye.”

Mia stood at the entrance, scratching her head in a cute manner.

Andre could never get enough of her. He smiled warmly. “What’s up?”

“I just want to have lunch at Majestic Dining Enclave.”

Mia had a lavish lunch, thanks to her husband’s deep affection for her. He would give her anything she

asked for.

Meanwhile, Molly was at the police station. “Chad, I want to have a feast too.”

Chad handed her a lunch box. “Here, a feast.”

“A feast, not fast food.”

Chad retorted, “All I have here is fast food.”

Molly retorted, “Then I’ll take a taxi to join Mia and Andre’s feast.”

Chad simply looked at her, didn’t say a word, and went out to have lunch with his subordinates.

Molly came and left in less than five minutes for the first time. Donnie was so scared. He immediately

ran to Chad’s office to check if the files were safe. They were safe, so he was relieved.

“Chad, it’s lunchtime. Why did Molly leave?” he asked.

Chad opened his lunch box. “She thought she couldn’t have a feast here, so she ran off to have one.”

Not long after, Molly returned.

Chad looked at her. “Ran out of taxi money?”

Molly placed a soda on the table. “Fast food with a Sprite, that’s a feast.”

Chad smiled. He picked up his lunch box and the drink his sister brought, heading to the office. Molly

followed closely.

The officers outside the room all made fun of him. “Chad loves his sister too much. He doesn’t even eat

lunch with us anymore.”

“Well, he’s with Molly. Are you Molly?”

“Exactly, Chad only has eyes for his sister.”

Inside the office, Molly remembered how she accidentally messed up some files a few days ago. It took

her several days to apologize to Chad. “Chad, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cause you trouble. I won’t

touch your office files anymore.”

Chad simply hummed in response, opened the drink can for her, and invited her to sit across from him

and share his lunch.

While sipping on her drink, Molly asked Chad, “Chad, are you investigating something from sixteen

years ago?”

Chad paused for a moment, unable to hide his reaction from Molly. He denied it. “No.”

“I saw some files about our family from sixteen years ago in your cabinet the other day. There was also

something about a leaf tattoo.” Molly revealed.

Chad put down his spoon. “Molly, leave this matter to me. Don’t get involved anymore.”

Molly knew it deep down. “But if I don’t regain my memory, you won’t know who the real villain was all

those years ago. Even if you catch someone, you might nab the wrong guy, which could ruin your good

judgement.”

That was also why Chad hoped his sister would recover her memory. Only when she regained her

memory could Chad pinpoint his target. As for his reputation, he didn’t care much. He was just afraid of

getting it wrong.

He and Andre were essentially working off hunches now, and trying to find evidence. It was really too

easy for them to get ensnared in.

Back then, it was very likely that Molly was the only one who had seen the mastermind behind the

scenes. Hence, if they wanted to know whether the Waltons were the masterminds sixteen years ago,

her memory was crucial.

Seeking evidence on a hunch was a cardinal sin. He had been skirting the edge of this lately. But they

didn’t want Molly to remember that past again.

“Let’s eat first.”

Molly nodded, picking up her fork.

She knew she had hit the nail on the head! Her memory was very important in relation to what had

happened sixteen years ago.
