Chapter 3739
Chapter 3739
Charlie took the name card and glanced at it casually. He noticed there was only a name and a string of numbers on the card.
Kylie's name was printed on it with a domestic phone number starting with 159. There was still a faint smell of ink from the name card. It seemed as if it was printed not long ago.
Charlie didn't think much about it. He took out his phone, snapped a photo of the name card, and then handed it back to Jacob.
He planned to contact Kylie tomorrow, have a quick look at her villa's Feng Shui, and get it over with.
On the next day, Jacob reminded Charlie again during breakfast. "Hey, Charlie. Remember to give Ms. Jane a call."
Charlie nodded. "I'll send Claire to the office first and contact Ms. Jane later."
Jacob quickly said, "You can skip that. I'll drive Claire to the office. Anyway, I need to go to the association earlier today, so Claire can leave her car with you. If M s. Jane is in a hurry, you can drive and meet her immediately."Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Claire agreed with anod. "Husband, Ms. Jane has spent so much on Dad's Calligraphy and Painting Association. She's an important patron. Please treat
this with importance."
Then, Claire added, "If it isn't a lot of work, maybe you shouldn't charge her any service fee."
At that, Elaine blurted out without thinking, "Claire! What nonsense are you spouting? We have to account for the money carefully among siblings, let alone a stranger!"
Elaine quickly turned to Charlie. "Charlie, don't listen to Claire. You should charge appropriately. We must not be silly just to defend our pride!" Charlie looked at Claire with a smile and reassured her, "Wife, don't be worried. I know what to do."
But Elaine pressed determinedly, "Charlie, don't be silly, alright? We can ignore anything but money!
Besides, this isn't a small amount. It can easily be in the millions!"
Charlie laughed, "Okay, Mom, I understand. Don't worry about it."
Charlie then quietly gave Claire a reassuring look.
This deal was at most worth one to two million dollars. Charlie didn't really take it to heart. Besides, he was fine with doing others a personal favor.
After breakfast, Claire was about to
leave with Jacob. Charlie
remembered about the two amulets he had made previously, and gave them to the father and daughter pair.
Charlie urged, "Dad, Claire, this is an amulet charm for safety. You two should take one with you and keep it close to you."
Jacob asked curiously, "An amulet? Where did you get it? Why does it look like it's made from shells?"
Charlie chuckled. "It is made from shells. It may not be effective, but it's something."
Claire took the small and delicate
amulet charm and said in amazement, "This has such a beautiful luster! An ordinary shell won't have such a good color!"
Charlie laughed. "Who knows. Perhaps they're rare shells."
Then, he hurriedly added, "Both of you often drive out. Take the amulet with you as protection."
Claire nodded and laughed, "I'll attach it to a string and hang it on my phone! It can be a nice phone accessory!"
"Okay," Charlie laughed as well. "If I knew, I would have helped you both string the amulets."
Elaine was dissatisfied to be left out. Behind them, she complained, "Charlie, why didn't you give me one too?"
Charlie laughed, "Mom, this is a
safety amulet. You haven't been
going out lately, so there's no point for you to carry it around. Maybe should get two gold bars for you instead. You could even use them as a dumbbell for fitness!"
