Chapter 901 What an Incredible Coincidence!
"Now? That won't do." Kingsley pointed to the tempting Spaghetti Bolognese on the table. "We haven't finished our meal yet. Leaving at this point would be such a waste, don't you think?" Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
Yulia expressed her concern. "But... I'm worried that things might get even more complicated if they show up later."
Kingsley smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry. It's a simple matter. You don't need to worry about anything. Come on, let's enjoy the spaghetti."
Looking at Kingsley's calm demeanor, Yulia inexplicably felt a sense of security. She glanced at the steaming plate of pasta and swallowed hard. "You're right. Let's finish our meal before we go."
He chuckled, finding Yulia's unwavering love for food quite endearing.
At that moment, Luke Mccarty approached with some side dishes and drinks. He asked, "How is it? Does it taste as good as you remember?"
Yulia nodded and gave him a thumbs-up. "The taste is just like what Mr. Mccarty used to prepare! It's incredibly delicious!"
Luke immediately smiled. "Haha, my dad always tells me not to tarnish his reputation. He should hear your praise."
Kingsley also smiled warmly and added, "This place holds so many childhood memories for me. I'd love the chance to thank Mr. Mccarty in person."
"My dad might drop by in a while, but speaking of gratitude, it's us who should be thanking you," Luke replied.
He wished to chat more with Kingsley, but a nearby patron loudly called out for more side dishes.
"Alright, coming!" Luke responded, turning to attend to the customer's request.
As Yulia enjoyed her spaghetti, she tried to recollect their previous conversation. "Where were we just now before Hillary's call interrupted us? I totally forgot."
Kingsley pondered for a moment and replied, "I think... we were discussing complimentary drinks, right? You mentioned that when you used to frequent this place, Mr. Mccarty would often offer you free drinks."
Her eyes lit up with excitement. "Exactly! I didn't expect us to share so many common experiences. It's truly amazing!"
Kingsley contained his amusement and continued, "Actually, there's something even more amazing. Back then, since I was young and broke, Mr. Mccarty only charged me 15 cents for the spaghetti..."
While he spoke, his heart raced with anticipation.
Yulia should have realized by now that he was her long-lost younger brother.
"This..." She covered her red lips in astonishment, finding it hard to believe. "My goodness, what an incredible coincidence! Mr. Mccarty charged me only 15 cents back in those days too! It seems like our meeting was destined by fate!"
"Yeah, it does seem a bit too coincidental," Kingsley replied, looking at her with a smile in his eyes. "But sometimes, when coincidences occur with such frequency, they might not be mere happenstance, don't you think?"
A flush of color crept up Yulia's cheeks as she gazed at him for a while before nodding. "You're right! Perhaps this isn't merely a coincidence!"
"Sis..."
Kingsley thought she had already figured out his identity. However, just as he was about to call her "sister," Yulia continued, "No, this isn't just a coincidence. It's because Mr. Mccarty is an incredibly kind person! He's brimming with love and goodwill for every poor child. Perhaps there are others who've enjoyed fifteen-cent spaghetti. We should all be grateful for the kindness of Mr. Mccarty!"
Kingsley was momentarily left speechless.
He hadn't expected her perspective to be so unique.
He opened and closed his mouth a couple of times, then picked up his fork resignedly, and decided to finish his spaghetti before saying anything else.
At this point, he no longer planned to let Yulia slowly figure out his identity.
With her distinctive way of thinking, it might take her a year or two to grasp the reality.
Therefore, Kingsley opted to wait until after she had finished her meal to reveal his identity.
He was worried that divulging it now might overly excite her and disrupt her meal.
