Chapter 82: To the nearest hospital

Chapter 82: To the nearest hospital

“James?!” She called out, catching everyone unaware.

The cops rushed out of their hiding places, and before Fred could realize what was going on, he was surrounded with cops who pointed their guns at him

“Your hands in the air!” They announced, and he raised his hands. James also proceeded out of his hiding spot and ran towards Amelia, who was also running to him happily with Alice in her arms.

“Alice!” He called happily and opened his arms wide. Amelia ran into his arms, even though she was quite conscious about Alice that she carried in her arms.

The first thing James did was carry Alice from her arms first and then embraced Amelia with his side. Alice took one side, Amelia took the other.

‘I have missed you so much, James.” Amelia mumbled and tears began to stream down her eyes. James shut his heated-up eyes pretty tight, and let his tears stream down freely.

“I missed you so much too, Amelia. I thought I lost you.” He mumbled too.

He opened his eyes after a few minutes and looked at Fred

The anger that first erupted in him when he first saw that he was the one behind the abduction was killed when he laid his eyes on Amelia But when he looked at him again, he felt he needed to throw a few punches at his face before leaving him to the cops.

“How have you been?” Amelia raised her head from his chest and looked at his face. Her nose caught another smell from his chest which wasn't his body spray.

She furrowed her eyebrows and slowly figured out it was wine.

“James, have you been drinking?” She asked without hesitation, and that was when James looked down at her.

“Hey...” He uttered with a smile. “Can you hold Alice for a minute? I need to do something.” He said with a smile.

Amelia narrowed her eyes but didn’t ask questions. She nodded and took Alice from him carefully.

After Alice was off of him, he stormed to where Fred was. He was handcuffed and held by two officers.

The cops were about to throw him into the car when James grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and threw a very hard punch on his face. Blood burst out of Fred’s lips and he lost the whole balance of his body. Thanks to the cops that held him, he didn’t fall to the ground. James was ready to throw another punch but was stopped by one of the cops

“That's enough, Mr. Parker. We understand you're so vexed at this point. but please let us take it up from here.” He uttered. James clenched his jaw and slowly let go of his fist which he had tightened already.

“Who the hell put you up to this? Who gave you all that information? Tell me!” James smacked

“Mr. Parker, we'll take it from here, okay? Take your family home.” The cop insisted.

Fred raised his head and looked at James with a smirk on his face, which got James even more vexed than he was.

He moved his gaze from James and his eyes fell on Amelia. The smirk on his face slowly faded as their eyes locked.

“So it was all a life, wasn’t it?” He asked her, and she hurriedly looked away.

“Get in!" The cop pushed him into the car and shut the door against him

James looked at Susan and then at the officers. “Who is she? Why isn't she in handcuffs too?” He asked coldly.

Amelia shook her head and ran up to him. “No, she isn't a bad person. I brought her home from the mall myself.

“Why? Who is she?” James asked

“My surrogate mom. I'll explain better when we all are out of here.

James knitted his brows in confusion and looked at this woman again.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“Isn't she supposed to be...”

“Dead, right? Well, I thought the same thing until I found her in the shopping mall, and trust me, James, She is Clara

After Amelia stopped talking, he looked at Susan again but with a straight face. It was all so confusing that he didn’t know how to react to what he had heard.

“Let's head to the car. Everyone is waiting for us down there.”

“Everyone? You didn't come here alone with the cops? How did you find out where we were?” She asked as they began to walk down the street to where the car was parked.

“Elena brought us here with a tracking map she claims is from a private investigator.”

“Elena is here too?!" Amelia asked in excitement.

James scoffed and shook his head. "Why are you so excited? Don't you suspect she is the one behind this?

“No, I don’t, James. It doesn't seem like she is the one. I don’t know who Fred has been talking to, but I don’t think it is Elena.”

“We can't be so sure of anything, and we can’t trust anybody too. Not after what happened at the party. I never suspected that he would do something like that even though I knew how crazy he seemed. Why would he ever think of abducting you and our baby?"

“Because he envied the family we had, James. He wished he was in your shoes. He had always wanted me for himself.” Amelia explained, and James exhaled angrily.

“He will never escape the punishment for this. Letting you and Alice go through a horror like this. He will pay. I promise you, Amelia.” He firmly stated

“Luckily, wefound his cellphone in the housé: James had already <> concluded I wanted to waste his” time and effort. Maybe now he would see me differently.” Elena said as-she played games on her phone.

She sat in Charles’ car with Penelope next to her. Charles and Helen were in James’ car, waiting for James to show up with his family.

They were asked to return to the cars by the cops because they were too much around the house and it definitely created awareness. They let only James hang around at the end of the day.

“How are you so comfortable, Elena? You are playing games, for Christ Sake!” “What? Why shouldn't I be comfortable? I am not the criminal here.” She responded icily, and Penelope gulped hard and looked away. “Now I know you don‘ really care what happens to me after this.” She uttered early and lowered her head.

Elena heaved a sigh and paused her game. She looked at Penelope and saw sadness written all over her.

“You should have thought of the consequencés before venturing into it at all, mother There's not much I. can do. You just have to pray thats charges-are not pressed against him Ore doesn't mention your namé during interrogation, which bath of us know either ofthe two are possible.”

‘I know. James would definitely want to press charges, and Fred, isn't someone that can be so trusted, he will mention my name and spill everything. “So what do you plan on doing?

‘I'll confess to everyone when we get home today. Before Fred says anything, I'll proclaim myself guilty of my crime.”

“What? Are you crazy?!"

“What do you want me to do, hun?! You have ruined everything. That's the only thing I can do. Maybe when I do that, I won't end up in prison like Hopper.”

Elena exhaled hard and looked away.

"Well, what can I say? The ball is in your court: Just know that if your end up escaping prison, you'll never receive that motherly love you've always craved. Everyone I is gding to hate you for what you've done.” Céntent belongs to

“And you?”

“I'm not a fan, either. I need some fresh air at this point.”

Elena stepped out of the car and rested her back on the car body. She held her phone up and continued playing her game.

“Do you think they had a fight again?” Helen asked, and Charles looked at Elena.

“Probably. Isn’t that normal between mother and child? We do that a lot with James too.” He answered.

He looked out of the windscreen again when his eyes caught James and Amelia approaching. His eyes widened, and he tapped Helen. “They're here! They're here!” She yelled out of excitement and they both got out of the car.

Elena’s attention was pulled from her game because of the noise she heard. She raised her head and saw Amelia approaching. James walked next to her with Alice in his hand.

A wide grin crept up her face and she ran up to her. “Oh my... Amelia!” Helen and Charles called as they embraced her. “Mr and Mrs Parker!” Amelia answered with a chuckle.

They let go of her and Elena embraced her too almost immediately. “Gosh, I missed you so much.” Elena mumbled as she buried her head in Amelia's shoulder.

“You have no idea how much I missed you too, sister.” Amelia responded, almost burying her face in her shoulder. “Alice baby!” Helen called as she carried her from James’ hands and kissed her on her pretty forehead.

Penelope summoned courage and stepped out of the car. She lowered her head and also began to approach them She got closer and when she finally found a fake smile to put on, she raised her head.

“Ame...” She took an unexpected halt when her eyes fell on Susan.

“Clara?!” She called in terror.

Susan's attention was pulled away from the happy reunion to Penelope, and immediately her eyes fell on her, she felt an aggressive sting in her head.

“Arrrrgggh.” She screamed. She grabbed her head and slowly fell to the ground. Before she could reach the ground, James hurriedly grabbed her. “Susan?!” Amelia called and grabbed her arm. Susan's eyes were closed, it was as though she had lost consciousness.

“We need to rush her to the hospital. I think she has lost consciousness.” Charles said, and James nodded.

They both took her to James’ car and made her sit at the back. James and Amelia sat in front.

“We'll be behind you, James. Take her to the nearest hospital here.” Charles said to him as soon as he ignited the engine

“Let's go!” Charles said to the rest of them and hurried to his car. Helen followed behind him but Penelope was glued to the ground she stood. Elena looked at Penelope and shot her a deadly look.

“What is it this time? Why do you love causing havoc anywhere you go?!” She asked her in disgust.
