Chapter 4013
Dylan was leaning against the car, smoking.
He straightened up and put out the cigarette when he saw them.
Even from a distance, Olivia could tell he’d lost weight.
She thought, taking care of someone sick must be really draining.
Olivia didn’t avoid Dylan; she just walked toward him with Leyla in her arms.
As they got closer, Leyla seemed to recognize him.
The little girl reached out for Dylan but then pulled back, Leaning on Olivia’s shoulder, her big eyes fixed on him.
“Maybe she’s a bit shy because you’ve been gone so long,” Olivia said casually.
Kids picked up on stuff like that.
Leyla might be wondering why Dylan had just up and left.
Dylan felt a pang in his chest as he thought about it.
He stepped up to Leyla, extending his hand to her.
But she clung tighter to Olivia, refusing to go to him.
Feeling a bit awkward, Dylan gently patted her head.
That was when Leyla got all pouty.
Her tears started flowing… she just couldn’t stop crying.
Before getting back with Dylan, Olivia had asked if he was sure.
If he wanted to be with them, he’d have to be a good father to Leyla.
Leyla was over the moon when Dylan was around but now, thanks to him, she was dealing with the pain of separation way too early.
Olivia fought hard to keep her cool.
But kids were quick to forgive.
After being mad at Dylan for a bit, Leyla opened her little arms to him, and Dylan scooped her up.
Dylan gave the little girl a kiss on her cheek, and then said to Olivia, “I’ve sent the driver back.
I can give you a ride!”
Olivia was cool with it.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
But once she was in the car, she didn’t say a single word to Dylan.
Dylan knew why she was mad-it was all about Gina.
He didn’t bring it up because Leyla was right there with them.
Half an hour later, the car pulled into Olivia’s driveway.
To celebrate Leyla starting preschool, the maid had made a feast.
She had even cooked those mouth-watering roast pork chops.
In the kitchen, Dolly, the family dog, sat there, drooling at the smell of all the food being cooked.
