A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 900: Illness

If Brendon knew Alexia spoke about him like this, he would probably be furious!

Brendon was a highly eligible bachelor in both Kurima and the country, with good looks and high status, attracting many wealthy women.

“Mom, isn’t that a bit too much?” Ranita couldn’t help but defend Brendon. “He has already broken off the engagement with Shannon! They have nothing to do with each other now!”

“Yes, the engagement is broken off! But the relationships between noble families are much deeper than you think. If you remarry him, you’ll still have to deal with the Murphy family! I just don’t want you to suffer!”

“Are you planning to leave us and go to Kurima?”

As Alexia spoke, tears welled up in her eyes. She grabbed Ranita’s hand. “Ranita, can you promise me not to see him again?”

“You can find someone better here in Steland!”

Just thinking about Lena made Alexia suffocate!

Lena was a bad person. What if she did something to hurt Ranita for Shannon’s sake?

Alexia really didn’t want Ranita to get hurt, and the only way was to stay away from these people.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

“Or didn’t you say that work in Slovenia is very busy? Do you want to go there for a while? I heard from Ayaan that there’s a Dr. Pearson who treats you well there. If you like him, bring him back for me to meet.”

“Mom…” Ranita felt uncomfortable seeing Alexia like this.

“Ranita, in any case, I don’t want you involved with the Murphy family or the Stuart family…” Alexia finished speaking and, probably due to a headache, rubbed her temples and said, “I’m going to rest now, you can go out!”

Ranita didn’t sleep well that night.

Because of Alexia’s words, her mind was restless.

Probably due to staying up late and the air conditioning being too high, she started feeling cold all over around dawn. Her head felt dizzy and like it was splitting open.

“Ranita…”

“Mommy…”

Ranita seemed to hear someone calling her, but her head hurt too much and she couldn’t open her eyes! In a daze, she seemed to be taken to the hospital and then fell into a deep sleep.

When she woke up, it was already afternoon.

Above her was a white ceiling, and there was a faint smell of disinfectant in her nose. Ranita moved her body and found it a bit painful.

“Ranita! You’re awake!” Jedidiah’s excited voice came. She blinked in confusion for a while before saying, “Brother, what happened to me?”

Her voice was hoarse, as if it had been through sandpaper.

And it hurt a lot.

“You suddenly had a high fever and couldn’t be woken up.” Jedidiah seemed relieved. “You scared us to death! Ayaan cried so much her eyes are swollen!”

“Where’s Ayaan?”

Jedidiah pointed to a small recliner on the side. “Over there! She cried all morning and finally fell asleep from exhaustion!”

“I’m sorry for worrying you!” Ranita didn’t expect to suddenly have a fever. She swallowed and said, “I feel much better now.”

Jedidiah touched her forehead. “The fever’s gone! Drink some water and sleep a bit more. I’ll have the driver bring some food over later.”

Ranita nodded and drank most of a cup of water.

“Jedidiah, where’s my phone?” Ranita asked nervously. She wondered if Brendon had tried to contact her. If he did and she didn’t respond, he might be worried.

Jedidiah seemed to see through her thoughts. “You’re sick yourself and still thinking about him!”

Jedidiah was really frustrated with Ranita and didn’t want to talk to her anymore.
