A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 927: Bath

Ranita’s heart felt like it was being scratched by a cat’s paw.

Her ears turned red, and her attempts to push him away became half-hearted, making Ranita want to kick herself.

“I really don’t need…” Ranita managed to squeeze out a sentence before Brendon picked her up.

“Don’t be so polite with me!” Brendon leaned in and kissed her on the lips. “The doctor said a bath would help you sweat and feel better.”

“But don’t stay in too long.”Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Feeling shy, Ranita was undressed and placed into the bathtub. The warm water was indeed comfortable, but with Brendon standing right beside her, staring intently, she couldn’t relax.

Before she could say anything, she saw Brendon start to unbuckle his belt.

“You… you…” Ranita was shocked as water splashed and his tall figure entered the tub.

Her skin felt a strange sensation.

Ranita’s already erratic heartbeat quickened, and her face turned bright red.

“What are you doing in here!” Ranita tried to move away, but Brendon’s arm quickly pulled her into his embrace.

The warm water made their skin feel like it was on fire.

“Stop it.” Ranita tried to shrink away. “I’m dizzy and can’t fight you off. Don’t bully me.”

Brendon laughed as he held her. “I won’t bully you. Don’t underestimate me!”

“I don’t dare!” Ranita shook her head, but her eyes showed no trust.

“I really won’t bully you.” Brendon pulled her wrist, his breath hot as he kissed her, mumbling, “Just one kiss.”

The book said not to trust a man’s words.

Ranita found this to be very true.

The more they kissed, the more Brendon’s breathing became rapid. His arms wrapped around her like vines, leaving her no escape.

When Ranita lay back on the bed, she sneezed twice, curling up under the blanket.

“Don’t wrap yourself so tightly, you’ll suffocate!” Brendon tugged at the blanket, his lazy smile showing satisfaction.

“Brendon, you went back on your word.” Ranita was exhausted from his teasing and felt even more tired now.

Even her voice sounded like a kitten’s whimper, pitiful yet cute.

“Sorry, I admit my mistake!” Brendon tried to control himself, but his alluring wife made it impossible.

“Hmph!” Ranita pouted, turning her back to him. The next second, Brendon slipped under the blanket, pressing his warm body against hers.

“Ranita, don’t be mad!” Brendon held her fingers, gently squeezing them in a way that felt both light and intimate.

He whispered in her ear, “I was wrong. Please don’t be mad at me, okay?”

Ranita was so sleepy that she felt like her soul was floating away.

Feeling warm in his embrace, she hummed softly and fell asleep.

There was no movement for a while.

Brendon propped himself up slightly and saw that Ranita had fallen asleep on his arm.

He had been gone for over a week, sending messages every day, but Ranita barely responded, only saying she was fine once or twice.

Brendon’s heart had been breaking.

But now, his passionate heart received a response. The long journey back seemed worth it!
