“Since Mr. Yondel has nothing to do with this, please spare him,” Nelly snarled, her eyes glowing with a predatory hunger.
“Okay,” Alpha Kilian agreed, his voice dripping with authority and dominance.
He was so assertive, so commanding, that Nelly didn’t know how to respond. His alpha presence made her submissive nature tremble.
Nelly nodded, her fangs peeking through her lips. “That’s what I want to say. Now that I’m done, I’ll leave first.”
“It’s noon. Why don’t we have a meal together?” Alpha Kilian suggested, his eyes gleaming with a hunger of a different kind. “There’s a decent restaurant nearby.”
“It’s fine…”
“Didn’t you say that you want to thank me? Treat me to a meal,” Alpha Kilian interrupted, his voice low and menacing.
Nelly raised an eyebrow, her wolf instincts in high alert. “It’s that simple?”
Alpha Kilian smirked, showing off his sharp teeth. “Yeah, it’s that simple.”
With nothing left to argue, Nelly reluctantly nodded. “Okay, then.”Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Alpha Kilian chuckled, his voice rumbling like thunder as they made their way to the restaurant. His wolf was in full control, reveling in the dominance.
As they entered the restaurant, Alpha Kilian’s eyes narrowed, his wolf sizing up Nelly. “Is there anything that you like to eat?”
“I’m not a picky eater, so anything’s fine,” Nelly responded, a hint of a growl in her voice.
But as Alpha Kilian went to order, a realization struck him. He knew nothing about Nelly’s preferences, about who she truly was as a wolf.
“I’d like to have two of your signature dishes,” he said to the waiter, passing the menu over without taking his eyes off Nelly.
Sitting across from each other, their gazes held a mixture of familiarity and uncertainty. They were former mates, but now they were nothing more than strangers.
“When we were married, we didn’t even have a meal together,” Nelly remarked, her voice tinged with bitterness. “How strange the time is.”
“How is your injury? Is it time to rebandage it?” Alpha Kilian asked, his eyes fixated on her healing wounds.
Nelly glanced at her hand, her wolf snarling beneath her skin. “It’s almost fully healed.”
“After eating, let’s rebandage it,” Alpha Kilian decided, his dominance resurfacing.
Nelly was speechless. Alpha Kilian’s sudden care and concern unsettled her. He had no obligation to take responsibility for her anymore, and she didn’t want him to.
“Won’t Lara be angry if you do this?” Nelly questioned sharply. “There’s no need for you to do this.”
A dark expression crossed Alpha Kilian’s features, his eyes burning with possessiveness. “Are you that eager to cut off all ties with me?”
“With our relationship, we’re already like strangers,” Nelly retorted, her wolf yearning to break free.
Alpha Kilian fell into a heavy silence, his alpha aura pressing against her. Nelly’s words struck a nerve.
“Alpha Kilian, I can solve my own problems,” Nelly stated firmly. “Even if something happens to me, it has nothing to do with you.”
“You’d rather get into trouble than have me intervene?” Alpha Kilian growled, his wolf challenging her.
Nelly took a deep breath, her own wolf rising within her. “When we were still together, I hated it when other women approached you. I don’t want to be that kind of person now. It’s worse if I become my past self, whom I detest.”
Alpha Kilian stared at her, his eyes filled with a mixture of emotions. “So, you don’t have to care about what happens to me in the future. I can handle them myself,” Nelly emphasized.
Alpha Kilian scoffed coldly, his wolf retreating into the shadows. “Don’t worry, you won’t become someone like that.”
The waiter interrupted their tense moment by serving their dishes. Alpha Kilian’s appetite waned, his wolf still restless.
Nelly watched him silently, her own wolf struggling to understand him. She had said her piece, made her stance clear. The rest was up to him.
Alpha Kilian ate in anger, his mind filled with conflicting thoughts. After a few bites, he couldn’t stomach anymore. He looked at Nelly and asked, “Is there anything else that you’d like to tell me?”
Nelly shook her head, her eyes cold and distant. She had said everything she needed to say.
Alpha Kilian nodded, his anger simmering beneath the surface. “Fine! If that’s the case, I’ve got your message. I was just being too nosy for my own good!” With that, he stormed out of the restaurant.
Nelly was left speechless, her wolf stirring within her. That’s not what I meant.
But she didn’t chase after him. She wasn’t going to beg for his understanding.
With determination in her eyes, Nelly called the waiter to pay the bill. But to her surprise, the waiter informed her that Alpha Kilian had already paid.
Nelly was stunned. Didn’t he want her to treat him to a meal?
She nodded at the waiter and left the restaurant, her mind filled with a mixture of resentment and confusion.
Meanwhile, Lara couldn’t shake off the feeling that something had happened between Alpha Kilian and Nelly. She sent a message to her assistant, desperately seeking answers.
The assistant replied, assuring Lara that nothing exceptional had happened in the company. But when Lara observed Alpha Kilian’s intense gaze on Nelly, she knew there was more to the story.
“What did he do? Anything strange?” Lara asked anxiously.
The assistant replied, “Nothing much, except for work.”
Lara furrowed her brows, her mind racing to connect the dots. Why would Alpha Kilian suddenly act out? Something must have happened.
Unable to contain her curiosity, Lara asked the assistant about recent news.
The assistant revealed that Dave, the CEO of Prime Investment Corporation, had been arrested. Rumors suggested that Alpha Morris was behind it all.
Lara’s eyes widened with realization. She had discussed Dave with Alpha Kilian before, but he had shown no interest in dealing with him.
Why had he suddenly changed his mind? Unless… something had happened between Alpha Kilian and Nelly.
Determined to find out the truth, Lara excused herself from her parents and rushed to the office, consumed by a mix of worry and suspicion.
But as she left, her mother’s cautionary words echoed in her mind. “Don’t be rash.”
Lara nodded, but deep down, her wolf was howling with determination. She needed to uncover the hidden truth, no matter the cost.
