Chapter 13: Submit

Anita had to be manipulated. She has to love him, and he was going to make sure of that.

Anita spent her whole night thinking about what Kate said. She was right.

She remembered having a deal with Thomas. Her duty was just to make him look good while he makes her number one reporter.

This was an agreement that was long made before they became a thing. She even if they stop being together, she was sure the agreement still stands. The only way it would no longer stand was if Thomas wanted them to stop with the agreement.

The next morning.

Andre had gotten to the office as early as possible and ran straight to Anita to apologize to her better about yesterday. He thought about it well and knew that it was really her fault.

On getting there, he didn’t her, so he decided to call her from the information the company had.

Anita was trying to make breakfast for her and her friend when she heard her phone rang. Hastily, she ran to pick it up. “Hello Thomas, I am so sorry about yesterday. I promise I did not mean to. I got a bit jealous and needed space at that moment.” she spat without waiting to hear from the other side.

Andre froze.

“Good morning to you too. I saw you aren’t at work today, so I decided to check up on you. I think your absent is completely none of my business for real.” he said and ended the call immediately.

Andre didn’t know how to react after he ended the call. He became pissed and walked out of the company. It’s not like like here was important to him anyways.

Anita never expected the response she got. She was so shocked when she recognized the voice over the phone.

Andre had called her.

This was supposed to be a good day to rest, but then, she felt a bit down.

Staying strong, she continued what she was doing. Soon, breakfast was ready.

Anita went into her room as she tried to convince Kate to eat.

As they were eaten, they heard a knock on the door.

Standing up, Anita made her way to go check who it was.

On opening the door, she froze.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

Thomas?

“What are you doing here? There is no assignment to do remember.” she said and left him there as she went back to the dinning.

“I know I am wrong. I should not have displayed such disrespect. I am sorry.” Thomas said as he followed her inside.

Anita had already had enough that morning, so she was not interested in making things easy for Thomas anymore.

“You had your dinner without me last night. How was it? Like you disrespected me so much than I could ever imagine.” Anita wasn’t having it as she slammed him for disrespecting her.

Thomas almost lost his cool at her words. No woman had ever thought of having the upper hand in all of his relationship with women, but this little woman is about doing that. If not that he’s being spied on by his boss, he would have given this woman a threat of her life.

“I am sorry.” he managed to say after everything she said.

Anita was surprised at how calm he was. She thought he would not accept that he was wrong.

“It’s fine. I have forgiven you, but I don’t think we can keep a romantic relationship going. I won’t forget the deal we had. It will continue, but we are no longer a thing.”

“Can you at least give me the opportunity to correct things? I am really sorry.”

“I think you should forgive him. He looks really sorry.” Kate said aloud. She felt satisfied the moment he admitted his wrongdoing. If it were to be Alex, she would have gotten a couple of slaps already.

When Anita heard what Kate said, she calmed down and decided to give it another try.

“Join me for breakfast.” Anita invited him and they had good breakfast together.

After the breakfast, Thomas offered to take them out for fun which they couldn’t deny especially Kate. She loved fun, plus it would help her heal from her current boyfriend.

They came home after much fun that day. After Thomas dropped them at their door, he left for his own home.

Happily they walked inside and started opening all of the gifts Thomas had bought for them at the mall.

“You should not leave him no matter what. This man loves you like crazy.”

“Hmmm! You think so? I really don’t.”

“Anita, cherish what you have now before it’s too late. If it were to be Alex, he would never do this.”

“I understand. I will have to think about it.” Anita then said. They reserved the ones they would and are the ones they had to while watching the television that night.

They thought that day would be something else, but then it became fun for them.

On the other side of the town was Andre who reminisced on how life has been since he moved to New York City.

He wondered how difficult it could be to find a good woman to make his. It was so hard for him. The only lady he had gotten close to after moving here was Anita and she doesn’t seem to like him.

He doesn’t really detest her, but at least h respect her. He thought she was single until this morning.

Ever since he heard her apologized to a man, he had not been himself.

He wondered who this man was and how he managed to get Anita to be his.

As he thought, he didn’t realize that Cass was already inside the room with him until he shook his head and turn.

Andre froze.

“What are you doing here?”

“I’m sorry to disturb you master, but your people are getting worried and I am getting called repeatedly.” Cass explained why he was there.
