Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 64

Chapter 64

With the Impending financing of Ansoft, the sensational and scandalous post on Instagram stirred up widespread discussions and reactions.

Online discussions ranged from criticizing Johnny’s audacity and despicable behavior to condemning the dark exploitation of the girl by the welfare home.

Some even blamed society.

Of course, there were also some who expressed “enjoyment” and “support” for Betty’s

actions.

Mikayla found it intriguing.

She had anticipated some action from Betty after their conversation. But using Johnny’s phone to post it on his own account was beyond her expectations.

This move had severed the ties between Mikayla and Johnny completely.

The repercussions on Ansoft, including its reputation and sales, were bound to be

significant.

Those who envied Ansoft would undoubtedly seize this opportunity to strike.

Mikayla immediately sent a “hug” emoji to Betty. At this point, the Lane family was undoubtedly in chaos.

Mikayla couldn’t make a phone call, so this gesture was her way of offering some support

to Betty.

Meanwhile, tension filled the air at Bernhal Enterprise Investment Bank’s meeting room.

Kylie, who always wore a gentle expression, now displayed a furrowed brow. The executives didn’t know how to console her.

Soon, Jerome arrived with Mike. He cast a cold glance at everyone. He took his seat at the head of the table and forcefully dropped a stack of documents.

“Who is going to explain the situation with Ansoft?” he demanded.

The room was silent. Everyone trembled under his gaze.

Kylie stood

up, “It’s my fault for not conducting a thorough investigation. I believed Johnny

too easily and accepted everything he said. I’ll accept any punishment.”

Jerome stared at her.

Wanting to secure the deal is understandable, but your approach was too radical and hasty. You concluded without verifying the truth, leading to a premature judgment.”

He continued, “This isn’t just about losing a project. The public will think Bernhal Enterprise lacks principles, willingly clearing obstacles for someone morally corrupt while knowing the truth.”

Kylie continued to apologize, “It’s my mistake. I didn’t think it through. I’ll accept any punishment according to the company’s regulations…” Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

“Besides Director Kylie, is there anyone else willing to admit responsibility?”

Jerome surveyed the other executives. They exchanged glances, knowing they had voiced their concerns when Kylie made the decision. 1

However, Kylie, who was favored by Jerome, ignored their objections.

Knowing their boss was furious, they quickly admitted, “It’s our negligence.”

“Allo

you will have your year–end bonuses deducted by three months. Additionally, come up with a solution to salvage Bernhal Enterprise’s image by the end of today!” Jerome commanded.

Kylie promised, “I will discuss with everyone to find the best solution.”

After the meeting dispersed, Kylie approached Jerome once again to apologize. She acknowledged his accurate assessment of the situation.

“Jerome, you were right. I was too impulsive in handling Johnny’s matter,”

Kylie continued, “I’m afraid you’ll think I’m shirking responsibility, but there’s something odd I didn’t mention during the meeting.”

Jerome gestured for her to speak.

“From discovering Johnny’s situation to our handling of it, only a few hours passed. We promptly sealed the information. In theory, no one should have known about this incident. So, who leaked the news to Mrs. Lane?”
