Chapter 112: Did he see me like this?
Chapter 112: Did he see me like this?
On the same night;
(Mo Residence)
“*Sigh* I am exhausted. I wonder how the basketball match went.” Mo Dunguo said as he sat on the
couch after returning from work.
“I will just know when he will return. I am hungry. It’s been so long since I had some Fish. Should we
have sushi? Or curry? Fried? ” While he was contemplating over the dinner, the front door opened,
following by a fuming voice.
“Ugh, this is so frustrating, how can he play like that. If only my leg wasn’t like this, we would have
surely won.” Mo Xung who was in wheelchair, supported by the Song Chao (Mo Dunguo’s Secretary),
berated as they entered the residence.
“What happened? Why are you so angry? Did they lose?” Mo Dunguo asked as he looked at his son
fuming in anger.
“Yes, Boss. Young Master Xung is disappointed by the results. He is being like this since the results
were announced. He even didn’t wait for Young Master Lu San.” Song Chao reported. He could feel Mo
Xung’s cold glare.
Mo Dunguo took a deep breath before saying “Xung, I know you are disheartened. You wanted to play
and maybe there would have been chances of winning if you took part. But what should have
happened has already happened. We can’t change anything. So, rather than being stuck in ‘What if’,
why don’t you cheer Xiao San?”
‘Here we go again.’ Mo Xung thought as he listened to his father lecture.
“You are being like this then what about the players who played? What about Xiao San? They must
have been as much as frustrated and angry just as you. You can’t just blame them for this. Xung, You
are getting what I am implying, right?”
Mo Xung looked back at him and slowly nodded his head which made Mo Dunguo to smile in
response.
“Secretary Song, Thank you for taking my son to see the match. You may leave and take rest
tomorrow. It’s your day off.” Mo Dunguo instructed.
Hearing something unexpected, Secretary Song was overjoyed. He thanked him and left the residence.
“Okay, Now let’s have dinner. You must be hungry.” He said as he notified the chef to cook some fish
curry for dinner.
“By the way, where is Meimei?” Mo Xung asked.
“Xiao Mei? I haven’t seen her since I returned. * Calls a maid* Where is Xiao Mei? Did she eat
anything?”
The maid replied respectfully “Miss Mei is in her room. She returned early from school. Since then, she
hasn’t exited her room. I went to her to give her some food but she said she wasn’t hungry.”
“She hasn’t exited her room? I wonder if she is okay.” Mo Dunguo mumbled.
Mo Xung peered at the direction of her room, worried. He then looked at the maid and said “Prepare
some spring rolls and fried rice. And remember not too spicy.” The maid bowed and left.
“Are you craving for Spring Rolls? Do you like them?” Mo Dunguo asked. Mo Xung didn’t say anything
just stayed there staring at the direction of her room like before.
Mo Dunguo analyzed the situation as he got up and returned to his room to get changed.
-After Some Time-
*Knock Knock*
“Meimei, Are you awake?” Mo Xung probed as he knocked at the door.
There was no response, so he knocked again. “Meimei?”
After waiting for some time, he decided to enter the room “Meimei, I am coming inside.”
The room was dark but the bedside lamp was on. Xi Mei was sleeping while hugging her big teddy
bear. Mo Xung approached her. He stared at her with the help of the pale light coming from table lamp.
Xi Mei, who was crying the whole time since she returned from school as she was disturbed and
scared from earlier events, eventually fell asleep from tiredness.
Seeing her puffy eyes, rosy nose, small tears still streaming down her closed eyes, It didn’t take Mo
Xung even a minute to realize that Something was bothering her.
But he didn’t want to wake her up. Thus, he turned around to leave. As he was leaving, his wheelchair
struck the nearby table causing the vase to fall down and scatter, causing loud enough noise to wake
Xi Mei up.
“Sh*t!” Mo Xung cursed under his breath.
“Who is there?” A hoarse voice rang out.
“Xiao Xung? Is that you?” Xi Mei asked as she groggily rubbed her eyes.
Without turning around, he replied “Sorry for the mess. Don’t touch it and come to eat dinner. I have
prepared your favorite spring rolls with fried rice.” Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“But-” Xi Mei was cut off.
“No Buts. You must be hungry. I will be waiting for you in dinner table.” He said as he left the room.
Xi Mei switched on the lights before looking at herself in mirror.
“Did he see me like this? *Sigh* I can’t go outside like this. What if they ask me what’s wrong? What
would I answer? Ugh, I will just stay quiet.” After making up her mind, she left her room.
Surprisingly for her, nothing she imagined happened. No one asked her anything. Mo Dunguo just
asked her if the spring rolls were to her liking or not. The whole dinner was about the basketball match,
which made Xi Mei somewhat relieved but confused.
After Dinner, just as everyone was about to head to their rooms, Xi Mei called Mo Xung out.
“Can I talk to you for a moment?” She requested.
“I am heading to bed. You two can take a stroll outside the garden. But don’t stay for too long. Good
Night, kids.” Mo Dunguo said as he went to his room.
*Outside*
“What is it that you wanted to talk with me?” Mo Xung asked as Xi Mei pushed his wheelchair from
behind.
“Aren’t you curious why do I look like this? I mean the reason I cried.” Xi Mei bit her lips.
