Drawn to You: The Billionaire’s Second Wife

Chapter 44.

She stood at the door post of the bathroom watching Chloe as she bathed herself, thereby… correcting her in some necessary places she was mistaking.

“Give me the sponge, I’ll wash your back myself.” She uttered moving towards her.

Chloe handed the sponge to her and she began scrubbing her back. “Make sure to wash between your legs but with only water.” She ordered her.

She nodded and began doing as she ordered immediately. Vanessa still stood watching her until she was satisfied with what she was doing.

“I’m done.” She uttered and dashed out of the bathroom.

Vanessa handed over to her the cup of moisturizing cream which she began applying on her skin repeatedly.

“You just apply it once.” She stopped her.

She nodded and pushed the cream at the side, she glanced at the bed to see her nightwear on it.

“You should have left me the nightwear myself.” Chloe uttered climbing to the bed.

Vanessa gasped and got seated on the sofa opposite the bed still staring at her as she had the nightwear on.

“Once upon a time…” she uttered audibly, drawing her attention.

Vanessa adjusted on the sofa to affix all concentration on the story she’s about to tell.

“In a city far away from the earth, a CEO had a worker whom she trusts so well… she’s a female and has all the qualities of a good woman in her. She’s so caring and loving that everyone cherished her…

Vanessa lifted her jaw with her right palm still having her mind on the ongoing story.

“Despite the difficult times and the pains she had passed through as a worker… She didn’t give up on the work. The two genders were so understanding to each other that people kept thinking they were couples already… a lot of women envied them but they didn’t mind the rumors…

“Until that day, the CEO bumped into the worker unexpectedly and in a deserted area. He couldn’t help it but get what he wanted all this while…

Vanessa burst into laughter. “And what’s that he had always wanted from her?” She asked Chloe who was all ears to her question.

“A kiss… a warm hug and the three words everyone knows…”

“Which is?”

“I love you…” Chloe responded.

She bursted into laughter again. “You’re so smart to know what love is all about at this age huh? Well that’s by the way, keep going with your interesting story.”

“From that point, they became lovers and the next thing was to get married which took place in a haste. They lived happily ever after with their kids.” She concluded.

“I’m sure you aren’t expecting me to learn a lesson from this too.” Vanessa referred to her.

She chuckled and fell on the bed. “This time, you won’t just learn a lesson… but you’ll count your teeth with your tongue.”

“You must be crazy Chloe.” She uttered giggling. She has nothing to do with the story and isn’t after to know the reason behind her comment.

“Actually I’m crazy because of you… and the other side of it.” She replied.

Nessa hissed so loud and got on her feet. “I need to go see how your sister is doing now, I’ll go back to cuddle you to bed too.”

Chloe watched her leave the room out of her sight, and then she grabbed the story book again.

Vanessa dashed into Tracy’s room to get her seated on the bed leaning her back at the edge of it.

She sat beside her again. “Don’t tell me you’re still thinking about it again. You need to sleep off all your worries.”

Tracy glanced at her and sniffed. “I can imagine my mother.” She wiped her face with her palm.

“Stop that imagination and put yourself together.” She cautioned her and pulled her to herself.

Tracy rested her head on her shoulder and her palm clutched with hers. “I’m feeling sleepy.”

She made her lie down on the bed, and she began singing a rhyme for her. She caressed her hair and back.. ran her finger in her ears too until she dozed off.

She got on her feet and covered her with a blanket after which she left the room to that of Ben. He was already asleep.

A smile appeared on her face as she walked into the room, she covered him with a blanket too and dashed out to meet Chloe.

The little girl doesn’t feel like sleeping. Her eyes were so wide that she was busy with her story book.

“Aren’t we gonna sleep today Chloe?” She asked her.

She lifted her face giving her a glance. “I don’t think so, the story book is so interesting.”

Vanessa walked up to her and took the book from her. “You’ll do that tomorrow when you’re back from school, you need to sleep now so you can get up early for tomorrow and then I need to leave too.”

Chloe acceded to it and laid down on the bed, she laid with her too.

Just like she did to Tracy, she did that to her too and she slept off within minutes.

She was now ready to leave since they were all asleep. She took her handbag and left the room.

“Vanessa…” she heard her name called out from the back.

She turned to see Xavier standing in his door post staring at her.

“You made them sleep on time today. Don’t tell me you’re leaving already.” He uttered.

She smiled. “But I’m done, I need to be on my way now.” She replied, pulling her lips into a smile.

Xavier walked to her, gripping her palm. “I’ll drop you off, but I need you to serve me my meal please.”

“But you can do that yourself. Can’t you?” She asked with widened eyes.

He smiled at that question. “Yeah! I can do it, but I need you to do it for me now.” he kept staring at her.

Vanessa had no other option than to give in to his plea, they both left to the dinning while she left to get his meal in the kitchen.

She dished the meal in his presence.

Xavier couldn’t get his eyes off her, he affixed his gaze on her like it’s the first time of seeing her.

Several times, he either bite or licks his lips when Vanessa noticed it. He insisted she would sit and watch him eat.

Vanessa adhered to that and had a seat beside him, he got on his feet this time and dished Vanessa’s meal.

“Xavier, I never asked for this, and besides I already prepared my meal before coming out today.” She narrated.

He nodded. “I know that, but you don’t have to reject eating with me for the first time.” His voice sounded calm.

Nessa heaved a big sigh. She picked up the fork and joined him as he demanded.

“When is Lilian coming back to you? Don’t tell me you haven’t been speaking with her since she left your home.” She referred to him.

He smiled slightly. “I haven’t been speaking with her though, and I don’t care because I’m not talking about her again.”

“Come on, you can’t just wave her out of your life that way. Make peace with her please.” She stated again.

Xavier dropped his spoon since he had already emptied the plate. “Vanessa, please forget everything about Lilian. I don’t want to talk about her again since she isn’t feeling sorry for the offense she committed.”

She shook her head and nodded. “If you insist.”

She packed up the plate to the kitchen to meet Xavier seated on the sofa. She walked to him.

“I’m good to go.” She stated to his hearing.

Xavier got on his feet and took his car key from the table. “Let’s move to the car.”

They both moved to the car and he drove off. Within minutes, they arrived at her residence.

She unlocked the door and got down from the car after wishing him a good night.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
