Jaden's head was spinning, but he couldn't focus on that now. He was too worried about Candace, and rushed off with the enforcement team to see her. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

In the visitation room, Candace was dragged out by two officers in uniform. The second she spotted Jaden, she lunged at him, "Jaden, please! Get me out of here, please!" Jaden was taken aback seeing her like this. She was covered in blood, crisscrossed with scars, and reeked of it. She wasn't the beautiful Candace he knew.

His heart twisted painfully.

"Candace, take a breath," Jaden said, not backing away as he pulled her into a hug. "I'm getting you out of here."

"Mr. Lin, you can't take her," the officers said, blocking his way with stone-cold faces. "We're only letting you visit out of respect for Mr. Howard. Candace made a scene at the Falcone Estate, and by the book, she's got to be held for at least five days." "I don't want to! I can't stay here!" Candace cried, panic-stricken.

She regretted going to Flora, regretted going to the Falcone Estate. But it was too late for regrets now!

"I'll stand surety for her," Jaden insisted, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"The Falcones specifically requested her detention. We can't just release her," chuckled one of the officers. "Mr. Lin, take a look at this."

They handed him a phone. On it was a video of Candace shouting insults at the gates of the Falcone Estate. The words were harsh.

Jaden was stunned. Candace had always been so gentle, so vulnerable around him. He'd never seen this side of her.

"Jaden, I messed up, I messed up..." Candace sobbed, her voice full of despair. She couldn't bear to stay here another second-this place was hell to her!

Initially, she hadn't meant to lash out at Flora, but when Flora locked her out in the freezing cold, the words just spilled out.

"Mr. Lin, we have every reason to hold her. At minimum, she's got to be here five days. She's suspected of being a threat to the Falcone Estate. Unless they decide t@patch things up, she stays."

"You should leave now, save everyone the embarrassment," one officer added.

Jaden tried to reason with them, "Come on, do me a solid. Let me take her, and I'll work it out with the Falcones."

The officers just laughed. "Sorry, Mk.

Lin, we stick to procedure. No

special favors. If you don't leave,

we'll have to escort you net

Jaden's brow furrowed, his face darkening. He knew they weren't budging today.

Thinking quickly, he softened his voice to reassure Candace, "Hang tight, Candace. I know the team captain; I'll go talk to him."

"Jaden, help me... please," Candace pleaded, her voice shaking with fear.

With a heavy heart, Jaden left to find Chi Ming, the team captain.

But he couldn't even get past the office door.

"Mr. Lin, sorry, but our captain says unless the Falcones reconcile, Candace stays put."

"Also, he said he doesn't know you, so don't go claiming connections."

Jaden's face turned red with frustration. What was with Chi Ming today? Why so hard-nosed?

He hadn't done anything to set him off, had he?

Frustrated, he shot back, "Sure,

Candace caused a ruckus at the Falcone Estate, but she didn't hurt anyone. They let a dog loose on her! If we're laying blame, shouldn't Ethan, the one who unleashed the dog, be detained too?"
