Harvey York's Rise to Power

Chapter 97

Zack Zimmer was rendered speechless at this spontaneous decision. He never thought that his grandfather would treat him so well that he would bring out all these items.

The expressions of the other family heads started to slightly change one by one. They all had the same set in their homes. After all, this was trendy to have for the upper-class society of Niumhi.

Senior Zimmer eyes turned toward Yvonne Xavier and Wendy Sorrell. He then smiled. "Dear distinguished guests, since you're here, why not come and have a look at our set of precious items that belong to the Zimmer family?"

Yvonne and Wendy were about to reject the offer but when they saw the luxurious items of high quality in few of the boxes, any woman would be moved. Hence, they both could not resist but glance over.

Senior Zimmer noticed their expressions. He was adamant to attain victory that night. He then waved and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, come and have a look"

The first bodyguard opened the box at the front. Inside was a six-item jewelry set made of white gold from necklace to ring. It was a complete jewelry set. In fact, a huge mosaic diamond was glittering, reflecting the light with brilliance.

"Wow! That's a Tiffany & Co. engagement set of six items!"

"This is not something that money alone can buy!"

Many of the women in the Zimmer family became excited. Who would not want a set of Tiffany jewelries?

Even Mandy Zimmer's eyes were fluttering at this sight. When she married Harvey York, she did not even have a diamond ring, let alone having these kinds of things. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

Not far off from them, Lilian Yates glared at Harvey with hatred and coldness. If not for the inappropriate crowd, she would have given Harvey an earful!

Her own daughter had to be so miserable for marrying such a loser.

Next, the second box was opened. There was nothing else in this box other than a stash of blue banknotes. There were eighty-eight stacks of them when counted properly. Which meant that there were eight hundred and eighty thousand in value.

The third box was then opened. Inside the box was a stack of deeds. They were deeds for a set of villas.

Senior Zimmer looked at these items and proudly said, "Ladies and gentlemen, please be my witnesses. There is a set of villas, a set of jewelries, and eight hundred and eighty thousand in cash. This old man has prepared all these a few years ago. I would like to give these to the eldest grandson of the Zimmer family to ask his future wife's hand in marriage."

"However, this grandson of mine has high tastes and never found the woman of his dreams. Hence, I never had the chance to hand over these betrothal gifts."

"Today, he has approached me, telling me that he has found a woman that he liked and was ready to propose to her. I've then decided to take out these items as a present to this young couple."

"Of course, Zack is the eldest grandson of the

Zimmer family and the rightful heir. After his marriage, the Zimmer family will naturally be handed over to him. I hope that the people gathered here today would give your utmost support to the young couple!"

"That is a must! However, Senior Zimmer, who is this granddaughter-in-law of yours?"

The family heads present were not foolish people.

Many of them turned their eyes toward Yvonne. Could Yvonne be the granddaughter-in-law of the Zimmer family? If that was the case, then that would explain why she was biased toward them!

It looked like they needed to fawn over the Zimmer family from now on. They were about to be a first- class family!

Yvonne and Wendy did not have any reactions. After all, they did not have any feelings whatsoever for Zack. They never thought that Senior Zimmer could be referring to either of them. They both were waiting in anticipation to see who the lucky girl could be.

Senior Zimmer turned toward Yvonne and Wendy.

He saw their faces of expectation and had a certainty in his heart.

He then continued with a smile. "Ladies and gentlemen, who is going to be the granddaughter- in-law of the Zimmer family? She is about to be the fiancée of our heir. I will let my outstanding grandson announce this secret himself!"

Having said this, Senior Zimmer led the crowd into an applause.

Clap clap clap!

The hall erupted into a roar of applause. It was at this time, unknowingly, Zack seemed to have changed into a white suit and even had a rose in his chest pocket. He walked out with a smug look on his face.

Harvey almost burst out into laughter at this sight.

What was Zack trying to do? Was he thinking that this was a wedding? Did he not know the basic etiquette of wearing a suit?

However, the young women all looked at him in splendor. Although Zack was arrogant and domineering, he looked quite decent. As a young man from a rich family, he did have quite a clean look. He looked like a person on the outside, but his behavior was like a dog.

Even Mandy turned to look at Harvey after seeing this scene, she then could not resist heaving a sigh. When she had married Harvey, he had not proposed nor had he given her any wedding gifts. They had not even had dinner together. They had just simply gone to pick up their marriage certificate. She had to fork out money for him too. When she thought about this, Mandy felt quite wronged.
