Hiding His Baby: The Alpha's Rejected Mate

Chapter 50: She the red rose

Chapter 50: She the red rose

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Dominic asked in a soft yet husky tone as he found her sitting and looking at his red rose garden in total astonishment. His soft tone was sounding very foreign to his own ears but he didn’t put much thought into it.

“Very.” She replied while caressing the roses softly without removing her eyes from the beautiful roses. Her tone and posture was calm, so different from what it was a few minutes ago. As if the red roses did its magic on her as well and calmed her down like it works on Dominic. “Why is this part of the garden forbidden?” She suddenly asked, breaking the silence. She didn’t look up yet but his next set of words forced her to look up at him with widened eyes.

“Because of you.” He answered while looking at her intensely as if waiting for her to look up and meet his eyes.

“Because of me? How?” She asked in utter confusion as she looked back at the roses for a second before looking back at him. He didn’t show any expression on his face as he slowly sat down on the grass beside her. His arm touched hers as he sat down, spreading sparkles all over their body.

“Do you know what your scent is?” He asked while looking at the garden with a soft and calm look on his face. She looked at his face in astonishment as she has never seen him like that ever.

“N…no… I don’t…” She stammered while looking at him with a thudded heart:

She very well knew that he could hear that but there isn’t much she could do. It was not in her control. Nowadays a lot of things weren’t in her control. She waited with held breath to hear him and she didn’t plan to breath as well until he spoke up.

“It’s the scent of roses with a lot of intensity. I don’t know what others think but to me the scent of red roses has some different level of intensity which no other rose does. So, whenever I close my eyes to

imagine you, I can only picture you with red roses around you.” He explained in the same soft and husky tone while looking at her intensely. Her breath hitched as soon as she heard him.

“…I’m surprised to know that I have at least a place in your thoughts if not anywhere else.” She mumbled while looking away from him. He heard her without any doubt and looked at her intensely.

“You don’t have any idea.” He whispered back before looking away as well. She frowned hearing him, getting a little angry as well. She couldn’t determine the reason at that moment so she let that slide at that moment.

“But I don’t understand how that is connected with you forbidding it for everyone.” She asked in confusion while changing the subject and looked at him with a confused frown. He looked back at her, directly into the eyes, catching her breath once again.

“You are just like the red roses.” He whispered with a soft and almost unseen smile which he didn’t realise was on his face.

“Ho… How?” She asked as her breathing quickened. She didn’t realise when the distance between their faces decreased so much.

*You are beautiful and perfect in many ways but you are still like the forbidden fruit for me which I can’t have, touch or own.” He replied almost immediately with fisted hands and a look of pain and frustration came up on his face which shocked him.

She didn’t know what to think anymore at that moment. She wanted to look away so much but she couldn’t. His gaze held her down there. They shared an intense look as if they were conveying a lot of things through their eyes. It was soon getting too much for her as she couldn’t handle it and looked away.

“So, just like you hate me, you hate them as well?” She asked while looking at the roses again but her full concentration was on him as she wanted to hear his response.

“I don’t hate them now.” He replied in a blank yet somehow pleasing tone as he looked back at the roses a s well.

“Now? What do you mean?” She asked in confusion.

“Do you know how I found out that you were in danger?” He asked while looking back at her. The frown on her face deepened thinking about what he just said.

“How?” She asked.

“I heard a voice in my head.” He replied while looking at her expressions carefully. He wanted to see her reaction,

“A voice?” She was totally confused at that moment.

“Not a voice but your voice.” He answered as he remembered what happened that day once again.

“My voice? What are you talking about?” She asked turning toward him as she was really confused and her thoughts were getting messed up again.

“You unintentionally mind linked to me.” He answered, shocking her beyond limit. She let out a shriek of disbelief as soon as she heard him.

“Mind linked you? That’s not possible. I am not your pack member. I don’t belong from here. I don’t belong anywhere. Then how can I mind linking to you? That’s impossible.” She freaked out while trying to get away from him unintentionally.

He reacted immediately and brought her back to his previous place by pulling her by her arm and caged her between his arms. His hands were on both sides of her waist.

“That’s not impossible because I think you belong from this pack now. You are one of the members of this pack.” He announced with a proud and happy smirk, very satisfied with what happened. But it wasn’t the same case for Athena.

“What are you talking about? I don’t understand.” She exclaimed in confusion and her breathing started to quickened up.

“Remember that day when you touched my forbidden rose and ended up injuring yourself?” He asked with a small smile. His eyes were literally sparkling and she didn’t like that.

“Yes?” She questioned with a frown, ready to burst. NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

“Do you remember me putting your injured finger in my mouth? Sucking your blood?” He asked, closing the distance between their faces a little more.

She immediately nodded at him. She clearly remembers it because right after he did that, the wound was healed instantly.

“Y….yes.” She stammered with panicked eyes.

“I think that day the bond formed between you and me. The bond of an alpha and his pack member.” He announced with his chin held high.

“What?! That’s impossible! How’s it possible? And why do you look so proud about it?! No… …….. don’t belong from here… It’s not possible…” She freaked out a let out a lots of emotions in one breath. He smirked in amusement seeing her like that.

“Yes, you do. From that day you belong to this pack, tb ME.” He said in an intense tone, immediately earning a glare from her.

“I mean as an alpha.” He immediately corrected himself or should we say changed the direction of that conversation.

“No, I don’t believe you. I don’t belong here.” She stubbornly refused while fuming, not liking the idea at all. He smirked seeing her like that and his new side quickened her heartbeat as well as annoyed her as well. He would be lying if he says he wasn’t surprised by his own behaviour.

“Do you want me to make you believe some other way?” He asked with a smirk while giving a suggestive look to her lips. Her eyes widened understanding what he meant.

“What do you mean?” She still asked, trying to push his limits. His smirk increased a little more hearing her question.

“Sometimes a kiss can shut your brain down and you will be forced to believe what I say.” He put forward a stupid logic with a toothy grin, just like Ace….. She quickly shook her head out of those stupid and useless thoughts and looked at him with a glare.

“Don’t even try. I don’t want to be your pack member. I don’t want to be in any packs.” She exclaimed while trying to push him away in anger. She didn’t like what she just learned,

“Why?” He asked with a frown.

“Not only does it bind me and take away my freedom, it forces me to bend down in front of alphas, lunas and other powerful fellows which I don’t like.” She answered as she let out her frustration, deepening his frown more as a few questions raised in his mind.

“Where do you have such rebellious thoughts from?” He asked while looking at her intensely.

“I am…was a rogue, remember?” She quickly corrected her phrase as there was no point to be stuck there.

“That’s it? Only being a rogue could do that much? I have never seen any rogue have this much honest bravery. They are all sneaky and evil.” Dominic spat with gritted teeth as his eyes were close to almost changing its colour but he controlled himself at the end moment and looked at her. He was immediately back to her usual form seeing that.

“I don’t know. Maybe I was born like this. But whatever. What’s the point of this pack bond because I know about your stupid rules.” She spat in anger and displeasure while looking away from him, confusing him a little bit.

“What rules?” He asked in confusion.

“The rule where you disown those who don’t have a wolf.” She snapped, already shaking in anger at the stupid rule.

“What do you mean?” He sounded really confused, not understanding a single thing she was talking about.

“I don’t have a wolf, Dominic. I don’t have her anymore. She doesn’t reply to me no matter how much I call her. She left me. Forever. And upon that I am a monster now. An immediate threat for everyone in the pack.” She exclaimed, feeling frustrated and disappointed in herself. His frown didn’t go away after hearing her.

“We will talk about your wolf later. Who told you about such stupid rules?” He exclaimed in annoyance and now it was time for her to be confused.

“What do you mean?”
