Chapter 919 The Love Feeling Between You Two (Part One)

"Can we trust what men say? No, we can't," Aria answered her own question. She may look

unconcerned but inside, her heart still ached.

"But Lawrence is different from other men. He is a good man, and he does attract a lot of women in the

city. Almost every woman wants to marry him," Charlotte protested and explained.

"Then, what's the difference between him and other men? He's just a man with a desirable social status

and background. But he's still untrustworthy," Aria declared.

"I'm not as good with words as you are and I won't even try to be as smart as you. But Lawrence is still

a good man," Charlotte replied. "If you weren't Lawrence's girlfriend, Aria, I would have done the same

as the other women in this city. I would have seduced him and tried to sleep with him, too."

Aria stopped to glare at Charlotte. With a voice dripping with ice, she hissed, "How dare you say that to This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

me, Charlotte!"

Charlotte wished she could take back what she said but she couldn't anymore. She tried to smile at

Aria to placate her. "Aria, that's not what I meant. I would never do that to you, I swear. Lawrence is

yours and will always be yours."

Aria was angry but she wasn't angry at Charlotte or what she just said. She was angry at herself for still

loving Lawrence too much, even though he hurt her.

"You're absolutely right, Lawrence is my boyfriend. I love him and I won't let anyone else take him away

from me! Lawrence is my man and he is the most important person in my life. I won't allow that Anna to

ruin it." Aria declared aloud but seemingly lost in her thoughts.

Charlotte agreed with Aria and reiterated what she said, "Yes, Aria, you can't give up. You need to be

strong and stand up to Anna, for Lawrence. Her family may be rich but you are better than her in all

aspects. Lawrence may have loved her in the past but you are his girlfriend now, not her. Don't give up

on you and Lawrence, Aria."

Aria gained confidence from Charlotte's words and she felt her heart being pieced back together. She

might still doubt Lawrence's feelings for her and for Anna but she chose to believe Charlotte's words.

She turned to Charlotte and declared, "You're right, Charlotte. I can't give up!"

Monday morning, as the sun shone through the windows, Lawrence felt his eyes flutter open. He

stretched out his arm on the other side of the bed to embrace Aria but grabbed nothing but sheets and

a blanket. His eyes flew wide open and sat up in bed. He found no one sleeping on the bed but him.

Aria was gone.

The thought of Aria gone sent Lawrence into a panic. He got up and ran out of the bedroom to look for

Aria. He scoured the entire second floor before he ran downstairs to search for her. He discovered Aria

in the dining room, eating her breakfast. Lawrence breathed out a sigh of relief. 'She didn't run away, '

he thought.

Lawrence felt relieved and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

Lawrence walked out of the bathroom, freshened up and fully clothed in a nice, clean suit, when he

caught Aria putting on her coat. She was about to leave for work so Lawrence took advantage of this

moment to hug her from behind and placed his head on her shoulder.

"Stop it, I need to go to work," Aria warned with ice in her voice. She hadn't stopped scowling ever

since she saw him and Anna in the restaurant last Saturday. He didn't love her as he did before and it

was hard for her to be as kind to him as before, too.

"Aria, how could you say that? Please smile for me," Lawrence comforted and teased her at the same

time. He didn't want to argue so early in the morning.

"I can't," Aria replied. She shifted to unlock herself from Lawrence's embrace.

Lawrence grabbed her arms before she could get away and forced her to face him. Staring into Aria's

sad eyes, Lawrence asked, "Are you still mad at me?"

Aria pulled her arm away from Lawrence. "Why would I be mad at you? I'm fine. I'm happy," Aria said,

desperate to change the subject and leave. "You can go back to bed and sleep the rest of the morning

since you're the Executive Director of the JC Group. You can do whatever you want with yourself or

with your friends. But you're gonna make me late. I'm not like you. I'm just an employee with a regular

salary and a boss. I need to work hard to earn my money and follow the rules, which includes getting to

work on time. I can't be late and I can't leave work early, otherwise, I'll be charged a penalty of 100.

And I can't afford to let that happen. So, if you'll excuse me, I need to go or I'm going to be late."

Aria pushed Lawrence away and walked out of the house.

Lawrence felt rooted to his spot and could only watch Aria walk away. He never knew what to do

whenever Aria was in this mood. He always tolerated it before and have gotten used to it. But now, he

needed to do something about it. He could no longer accept Aria's sulky attitude and he needed to find

a way to make it up to her. He wanted things to be just like before.

Lawrence eventually left the house and drove to the office. He spotted Ivy waiting for him by the

elevators.

When Ivy spotted Lawrence on his way to the elevators, she smiled and ran up to Lawrence so she

could walk together with him.

"Good morning, Mr. Lawrence," Ivy greeted as she fell into step with him.

"What's going on?" Lawrence asked. He knew Ivy wanted to tell him something important by the look

on her face and because she only waited for him by the elevators when she needed to tell him

something important.
