Chapter 240
Chapter 240
The enemy team, all five of them, had stormed the base with a wave of minions, ignoring Waller completely. If they kept pushing without distraction, the game was as good as lost.
Karl slumped in his chair, eyes red with frustration.
Waller, in that moment of realization, thought resignedly, "So be it. If the kid wants to experience the thrill of the match, let her have it."
Silence hung over the EW Club's gaming room. Fingers had lifted off mice and keyboards as they awaited the inevitable defeat.
Only Floyd's eyes sparkled suddenly, his gaze shifting to Cordelia.
Standing teammates, Everard and Yates, moved to stand behind Cordelia, offering their silent support.
Inside CM Club's gaming room.
Their support player kept an eye on Waller's movements. Noticing Waller charging at them, he shouted, "Waller's on the move!"
Wade glanced over, seeing Waller stumbling towards them, having been trying hard to just stand his ground moments before. "Ignore him. Desperate last stand, isn't it? Just push to win," he said dismissively.
"Got it."
As Wade and his team advanced toward the base's core, he boasted, "This scrimmage has been worth it. We've got Waller rattled, and with his hand, I heard from the hospital he's limited to two hours of gaming a day, can't handle intense play. We've basically ruined him today with our constant mid- lane assaults. And EW Club? Just recruited a girl for their marksman and now Waller's practically disabled. They'll have to scout for newbies again, hah! Their top laner's no good either..."
As he rambled, Waller's character charged behind them.
Wade stopped, typing out a taunt: "Come to watch us take down your base, Waller? Enjoy the show!"
No sooner had he sent the message than Waller's mage character suddenly turned graceful, darting towards them!
"The heck, is Waller trying to combo us?!" the support player exclaimed.
Wade frowned, "Don't panic. With Waller's peak reflexes, he could only pull off three combos max. We might lose three but not the match. Stop the push, take him down first!"
"Alright!"
But as they turned, Waller unleashed his ultimate, transforming into a majestic butterfly, dusting them with lethal powder. Their health points visibly drained.
Back in EW Club's gaming room.
"Are you insane? Charging in like that? Why not flank?" Karl screamed, bewildered by the reckless move.
But as he ranted, Waller, trembling, couldn't believe his own eyes, "You're going for a combo?"
Cordelia, focused on her game, replied calmly, "Yeah."
Karl scoffed, "You think you're Waller? Even at his best, he could only manage four combos. You'd need to pull off five to win this." Cordelia ignored him.
Waller, curious, asked, "How many have you done?"
Cordelia, her fingers a blur on the keyboard, spoke leisurely, "With this character, I've managed three on mobile. On a PC, I believe I can do more..." Combos depended entirely on skill.
Not a word from Waller, but Karl continued to rant, "You think that's enough? Waller himself couldn't..."
He stopped mid-sentence as Cordelia's fingers danced across the keyboard, her speed creating a visual echo...

EW Club, Waller takes down CM's support!
EW Club, Waller takes down CM's top laner!
EW Club, Waller takes down CM's mage!
EW Club, Waller takes down CM's Wade!
EW Club, Waller takes down CM's marksman!
EW Club, Waller achieves a legendary pentakill!!
The gaming room was stunned into silence. Wade was speechless.
The sound of "Legendary Pentakill" echoed throughout EW Club's gaming room. Karl stared at Cordelia in disbelief.
Waller was equally shocked.
On screen, Wade typed, "The system's got to be bugged! Waller, how on earth could you pull off five combos? That's beyond human!" Beyond human...
All eyes turned to Cordelia, who sat upright, her gaze locked on the screen, the light reflecting onto her face, adding a sharp, cold edge to her appearance.
The room chilled momentarily.
Karl fell silent, recalling their solo practice. If Cordelia had unleashed her ultimate then, he would've been dead. Instead, she had stood there, as if lost.
He had taken her down, thinking it was a mistake on her part. But now, it seemed she was capable of much more.
Karl's view of Cordelia's slender
figure began to grow in stature, though pride prevented him from admitting his error. Instead, he. snarked, "So what if you can kill? Announcing a pentakill before doing it. that's so Wade, utterly low!"
Cordelia paid him no mind.
Floyd chimed in, "Because just now, if Wade and his crew had ignored her and focused on taking down the tower, even if Lia had pulled off her combe, we'd have been toast by them Lía typing out that message was all about getting under their skin."
That statement left Karl even more astonished.
In such a brief moment, was she really that cool-headed?!
Though Cordelia scored an impressive pentakill, it was under certain conditions, and without any minions, she couldn't clinch a win this round.
After respawning, Wade and his
teammates, now wary of the
formidable mage in the mid lane,
shifted their focus to attacking EW
Club's new marksman in the bot lane.
Karl, still a kid at heart, found his composure easily shaken, and after being caught out a few times, he completely lost it.
Between smashing his keyboard and pounding on his desk, Cordelia frowned at his outburst.
Wade continued to taunt them in the game chat: "So what if you got a pentakill? Still doesn't change the fact that you're losing this game."
