Vera had transformed into a completely different person after experiencing so much over the years. She had become more composed and restrained, shedding the insolence and arrogance of her younger self.

Yet, the essence of her character remained unchanged. Sometimes, the true state of one’s heart could be seen through fleeting expressions and the slightest shifts in demeanor.

Skylar had just stepped out of her car when Vera rushed up to her. “I’ve been waiting for you.” All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

Seeing Skylar lifted Vera’s spirits. To be honest, she wasn’t sure Skylar would come.

So much had happened in recent years. Jipsburg City was no longer the same as it had been three years ago, and Vera herself had changed as well.

“Let’s go inside and take a look,” Skylar said with a nod.

Vera provided an update on the recent situation as they entered Ruell Residence. The recent troubles involved Vera’s grandfather, Denton, and one of her uncles, Marlon. Both had been experiencing similar symptoms.

At night, they would become like different people–irritable, insomnia, and even rambling incoherently in their dreams. Occasionally, they could manage only an hour of sleep.

This cycle of poor sleep and insomnia was becoming vicious. Before long, both of them were in even worse emotional states.

Denton had been hospitalized for health issues a few years ago. Over the past three years, his health had been sporadically deteriorating.

At his age, insomnia had taken a significant toll on him.

The family kept an oxygen machine at home, and he often needed supplemental oxygen, even going downstairs became challenging for him.

As for Marlon, he had fallen into severe depression. It had led to his divorce, and now he no longer recognized his own son. Recently, he had even attempted suicide multiple times, creating chaos in the family.

“In the past two years, my grandpa started collecting antiques again, which I only recently learned about. Everyone thought the negative items were gone, so we didn’t pay much

attention.

“At first, when my grandpa and Uncle Marlon began to experience insomnia and emotional issues, we thought it was just illness. But now, I can’t help but wonder if it’s related to those negative items.”

Vera sighed, wishing she had the ability to detect negative items. Unfortunately, that wasn’t a

skill she possessed

The so–called experts in lipsburg merely said that this year was their bad luck year, among other astrological terms.

After consulting them, there had been no progress or changes in Denton and Marlon’s condition

It was only later that Vera considered the possibility of a negative item being involved. This led her to contact Natalie, who then got her in touch with Skylar, currently in Murida.

After listening to Vera’s detailed account, Skylar nodded in understanding, “Okay, I see.” However, she knew that she needed to see the things in person to confirm anything. As soon as she entered the villa, a chill swept over her back.

She noticed Vera wrapping herself tighter in her cashmere shawl from the corner of her eye.

“It’s a bit cold. Do you want me to get you a shawl?” Vera immediately asked.

Skylar shook her head. “Not for now, thanks.”

In the past three years, Skylar had grown. Although she hadn’t dealt with negative items abroad, she had dedicated herself to studying.

She had read almost all the metaphysics books left behind by Viola. What had once been difficult to understand became surprisingly easy to grasp over the past three years, as if she had suddenly found clarity.

Skylar could even read some experiences from a person’s features.

“Has anyone died in this villa in the past year?” she whispered, keeping her voice low so only Vera could hear.

Vera’s expression shifted to one of shock, admiration, and respect, all clearly reflected in her gaze as she looked at Skylar.
