My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey)

Chapter 2227

"Mr. Tremaine, Preslie's mother needs help, but the doctors here aren't skilled enough to perform the surgery. She might survive if they can get the best doctors over."

Sheldon paused for a second, then added, "Preslie's distraught about her mother's current condition, and Miss Cowell is sad because Preslie is." Sheldon was telling the truth.

But, he also had personal considerations.

He wanted Tremaine to send a doctor over.

Tremaine had a private doctor who served him in the presidential office, and his prowess was world-renowned.

As a colonel, he could easily summon any doctor except for Tremaine's private doctor. Only Tremaine had the authority to do so.

Although Yesseca had already asked for help, getting another one would increase their chance of success.

All Tremaine could think about was Yesseca at the moment, and only with Sheldon's words did he remember that.

He immediately replied, "I'll get the doctor over right away. He'll be here in half an hour. Tell them to get ready."

Yesseca didn't manage to get through to Selina.

She tried calling several times only to fail each one.

She tried calling Matthew only to fail as well. She tried the villa phone in the end, but no one picked up either!

Yesseca was so anxious that she broke out in a cold sweat!

What was going on?!

Selina would answer her every call, but no one did this time, not even with the house line!

Yesseca stomped her feet with one last failed attempt and decided to head to the Perry family villa, not wanting to waste more time.

Yesseca ran to Preslie to tell her she was leaving for a while, only to hear Sheldon telling Preslie he had called for a doctor who would be arriving in half an hour.

Yesseca was finally relieved.

Her journey to the villa would already take about half an hour, that was if she was lucky not to be stuck in traffic. Getting a doctor would add to the time as well.

But now, Sheldon managed to get a doctor to come over in half an hour.

Celine wasn't out of danger yet, and the sooner a doctor could come to them, the better her chances of surviving!

However, Yesseca still thought she should make a trip over to the Perry family villa.

She didn't know anything about medicine, but she was convinced the more doctors they could get, the better their chances.

After Yesseca rushed off, Sheldon was left alone with Preslie.

Preslie had felt like the sky was about to fall, leaving only darkness and despair all over. But for some reason, when Sheldon arrived and told her he would help her get a doctor, she didn't panic as much anymore and didn't feel desperate either.

She sat next to Sheldon and only had one thing in her mind.

From the moment she met Sheldon, she had a feeling he was an influential man.

If he said help was on the way, her mother would definitely make it.

The moment Yesseca reached the entrance of the hospital, Amelia and Calter blocked her way.

Amelia glared at her. "You dare to run away after killing my mother?! Good thing my dad spotted you!"Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Anxious, Yesseca didn't want to argue with them. "Let me leave; I'm going to find a doctor to save your mom! She's still alive, and the doctor who operated on her said maybe getting a better doctor will save her."

But Calter and Amelia didn't believe her.

Amelia said, "You're lying! Just say that you're running away! No need to make up such lies! Did you think we were born yesterday?!" Yesseca didn't have time to explain to Amelia.

She shoved Amelia. "Fine, don't believe me, but stop wasting my time."

Though she successfully pushed Amelia away, Calter managed to grab her.

Although Calter was getting on in years, he was still strong, and Yesseca couldn't break free.

Anxious and upset, she roared, "Let me go! Do you want your wife to die?!"

Calter's eyes were bloodshot. "Enough with your bullsh*t! The doctor already said there's no hope for her! I won't let you leave so easily!"

"That's right! Don't even think about running away!" Worried that Yesseca would escape, Amelia grabbed her other hand. "My mother has lost her life because of you. You can't run away from this unless you promise to give us your store or don't even think about leaving today!

Yesseca's eyes flashed with disbelief.

It baffled her that the pair was still thinking about money at this time.

"Do you even have a shred of humanity in you?!" Yesseca couldn't help roaring, "YOUR mother, YOUR wife, is lying in the hospital! And you two are still in the mood to talk to me about this?!"

Amelia shouted at the top of her lungs, "Am I supposed to sit back and watch you run away then?! We're already compassionate

enough to ask for your shop for

what you've done to my mother! If you refuse us, we will send you to jail and have you stay there for the rest of your life!"

Amelia and Calter would want nothing more than to do so, but they knew full well she had nothing to do with Celine's injuries despite being the one who sent her to the detention center.

Therefore, it was impossible for them to send her to jail.

"Anyhow, you're dead meat if you don't agree to give us your store!" Amelia threatened.

Yesseca pulled at her arms forcefully only to fail. The father-daughter pair had a death grip on her.

Things couldn't go on like this.

Although Sheldon said a doctor was already on his way, what if something happened? She still had to get to the Perry family villa as soon as possible.

With that thought in mind, Yesseca gritted her teeth. "Fine, I'll give you the store!"

It was just a store!

They could have it!

At worst, she'd just open another one!

Human life was more important!

If Celine died just like that, Preslie would live in misery while she would live in guilt for the rest of their lives.

Saving her was the priority right now.

Stumped, the father and daughter couldn't believe Yesseca gave up her store so easily.

Moments later, Amelia said with joy in her voice, "Your words against ours. We want written proof."

"Then bring me pen and paper; I'll write it down."

With that, Amelia ran to the convenience store next to the hospital to buy pen and paper. After writing the note, Yesseca chucked the paper

aside.

The paper fell gently onto the ground.

Finally, Amelia and Calter let Yesseca go and picked up the paper on the ground.

Looking at them with disgust and contempt, Yesseca quickly rushed off.

Traffic was smooth that day, better than Yesseca imagined. She arrived at the villa in less than half an hour.

But what rendered her flabbergasted was that there wasn't a single person there!
