Chapter 101 Good Fortune
Chapter 101 Good Fortune
The white wedding gown appeared as if in a dream, and Blanca went into a bit of a daze.
She’d been poor growing up, and had only ever been able to look at those wedding gowns in shop
windows, dreaming that one day she could have a fairy tale wedding…
She’d even started saving up in secret for a wedding gown when she’d been with Todd.
But Todd had cheated on her.
“What good fortune you have, madam. Sir already told us to prepare the wedding gown. He really does
care about you,” the manager was all smiles and praise. The woman before her was their madam
chairwoman, after all. After getting in her good books, they wouldn’t have to worry about promotions
and raises.
Blanca looked at the gown, unable to even out her emotions. She looked at Matthew, her voice
trembling somewhat. “Is this – for me?”
This was such a complicated feeling.
She didn’t think the first wedding gown of her life would be a gift from Matthew of all people.
“Don’t like it?” Matthew cocked an eyebrow.
“No no no, I love it!” With a sure answer, Blanca was about to weep for joy!
What a woman looked forward to the most was a perfect wedding, after all!
“Whether you like it or not, wear it for the wedding.” Matthew scanned her head to toe and had people
take Blanca to try it on. Blanca nodded obediently. The moment she came out in her wedding gown, it
was as if all her surroundings had lost their original color.
Just too beautiful. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
She could go straight into a pageant at this point.
“Madam, the gown is a perfect fit for you.”
“Yes, she just looks pretty to begin with…”
Several people started ladling on the praise. Blushing, Blanca lifted the skirts of the gown and with red
ears walked in front of Matthew, controlling the little murmur of her heart. “Does it look okay?”
“You sure won’t embarrass the Grant family in that,” Matthew judged.
Bah~~
Could he be any worse at talking!
He could have at least said some nice words or whatever, right?
Blanca lifted the skirt and spun around in front of the mirror. A brief moment later, though, she
remembered something. “You’re not trying to hold a wedding, are you, Matthew?” They were just
acting. If they had a wedding, wouldn’t it be for real then? Thinking of the chaos of that night, Blanca’s
face went red.
“You don’t want to?”
When she saw Matthew’s somewhat displeased face, Blanca hurriedly waved it off.
He’d gone to the trouble of preparing a wedding gown, so how could she say that?
It was just…
Blanca decided to go roundabout. Lifting her skirts again, she walked in front of Matthew and said in
volumes only the two could hear, “But could we just not hold the wedding? I know you upscale
socialites make a big deal out of it. We’d have to notify a lot of people and spend a lot of money, not to
mention if we get divorced later on, it won’t do…”
“Divorce?”
Matthew’s expression froze.
They’d only just got married for days, and this woman was thinking of divorce already?
“Yeah. It’s not like we are really in love, after all. Besides, didn’t you say it was only to get me to ward
off the people courting you? What if, from now on, you meet someone who you really love? We’d have
to divorce then.”
Blanca analyzed seriously.
She’d thought it through. She didn’t want for food or clothing in the Grant family, and it was a happy life.
If Matthew hadn’t found someone he liked, she could play the wife’s role just fine!
“Hmph,” Matthew scoffed suddenly, and turned to leave straight away.
“Hey hey hey, I’m not done…”
Somewhat confused, Blanca looked at Matthew, who only left his silhouette behind. She wanted to
chase up to him, but found that she was still in her wedding gown, so she stopped…
