Chapter 37 Scheme

"Why is Mr. Smith so biased? I can't take this," June stated angrily.

"You regard him as your father for so many years but it's incomparable to that bit of blood tie."

Sarah, who kept quiet all that while, felt slightly guilty. Previously, she blamed Linda for not telling them the truth so they thought that Roslin was just an adopted daughter. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

However, she saw how Linda's room was snatched. Roslin even hurt Linda's leg. Now she witnessed John come for Roslin and ignore Linda. Consequently, she found Linda very pitiful.

Sarah suggested with a deep voice, "It's useless even if you guys complain here. Let's come up with a way to give her a hard time in school."

June's eyes brightened. "Sarah, you're right. Do you have any good ideas? Tell us."

The others looked at her.

Sarah chuckled. "It's simple. She offended so many people in her class. We can ask them to do it."

A tinge of light flashed across Linda's eyes but she revealed a conflicted expression. "That's not very nice."

June hugged her shoulders. "Linda, you're too kind. She treats you as such but you still care about her."

"All lay loads on a willing horse. If you let her be, she may trample over you."

Sarah patted her shoulder. "Don't worry. It'll be fine."

They were trying to come up with a scheme while Roslin was riding in the car to return to the Smith family. Both John and Roslin sat on either side in the rear of the car as if they had nothing to do with each other.

John did not want to embarrass himself in front of the outsiders so he had been suppressing his anger all that while.

When they got home, Roslin wanted to go upstairs but John stopped her. "Stop."

Roslin turned around and looked at him, sneering. "What's the matter?"

"What's the matter? Tell me. You made trouble the first day you went to school. What do you want? You went there to study instead of fighting and causing trouble," John rebuked.

However, Roslin snorted. "I naturally wouldn't offend them if they didn't come poking the bear. If I suffered in silence today, they would think I'm a pushover. I'm the daughter of the Smith family. If the Smith family couldn't even protect their daughter well, both the Smith family and I would be humiliated."

Her analysis sounded reasonable.

John thought, "Those few families aren't rich and powerful. They are beyond the third class. Roslin is my daughter, so she doesn't have to suffer in silence." When he thought of that, he fell silent.

"I'll go upstairs and rest if you're done."

John ignored her.

Linda woke up early the next day. When she walked into the dining room, the female servants were slightly shocked.

She never came downstairs until the last moment but she was half an hour early today.

"Hurry up. I'm in a rush," Linda urged.

Hence, the female servants did not dare to waste time and immediately served her breakfast.

After she had finished eating, Lucinda walked into the dining room. She asked in surprise, "Why are you up so early today?"

"I've got something going on in the students' union. I need to go there early to deal with it."

Lucinda touched her cheeks. "You work so hard."

Linda hurriedly finished eating before she shouted at Mary, "Mary, is the car ready?"

Mary walked out. "Yes, it's ready but Miss Roslin isn't up yet."

There were two drivers at home. A driver attended to Mr. Smith while the other was responsible for giving Linda a ride to and fro school as well as for daily usage.

If Linda had left, it meant that no one would give Roslin a ride to school.
