Chapter 52: The Visit Of Serena's Uncle
Chapter 52: The Visit Of Serena's Uncle
Serena's POV:
The scorching heat made me feel like I was in a desert. But even that did not compare to the desolation that sat in my heart, as if my whole world had collapsed around me.
From a distance, I saw a building that was going up in flames.
"Peter? Peter? Where are you, Peter? Tessa? Anita? Patricia? Where are you?"
I shouted at the top of my lungs, but there was no response.
"Hello, baby." Someone called me from behind.
I turned around and saw Peter dressed sharply in a suit.
"Pet? Where are we? Why are we even here?"
"Why not? Don't you like it here? No matter how many times the world changes, we will remain immortal forever."
My surroundings suddenly changed.
The sun rose and fell multiple times.
The plants and trees changed colors from green to yellow to red.
It seemed that time was elapsing very quickly.
I repeated this word in my head.
I looked at Peter and felt something strange about him.
"You will be mine.Forever.Always," he said to me.
This was a wizard.
He was disguising himself as Peter.
All of a sudden, several open blisters started to appear on Peter's handsome face.
The blisters burst, forming scabs that truly made everything look horrifying.
"You cannot run away from your fate!"
The wizard opened his mouth and his voice boomed all throughout the place.
And then, he leaped for me.
His hands were outstretched, his long nails ready to grab at me. Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
I ran away from him and headed towards the burning building.
Just when I got closer, I realized that the building that was burning into shambles was none other than the Maple House.
I opened my eyes and woke up, gasping for breath.
"Honey, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
Peter immediately turned on the lamp and held me in his arms, wiping off the tears from my eyes.
"I...I had a terrible nightmare." I held on to his arms, as if I needed to grip onto reality.
"What happened in your nightmare?" Peter stroked my hair for comfort.
"It was a wizard...He was chasing after me."
"Oh, no.Don't worry anymore, Serena.I'm here now. It's just a dream."
I curled up into a ball and stayed in Peter's arms.
If the wizard dared to make any trouble, I needed to be ready to kill him.
"Hey, baby. It's time to get up now." I felt a pinch on my nose.
"I don't want to wake up yet! Five more minutes." I was completely exhausted last night.
When Peter told me he would be away for a while, I realized that I wouldn't be having sex for a long time.
So last night, I pestered him to have sex with me.
We didn't stop until past midnight.
To add to that, I even had a nightmare.
In the afternoon, I freshened up and put on some clothes.
Peter and I headed to the dining hall together for lunch.
On the way there, we ran into Tessa and Alvin as well.
The two of them looked absolutely smitten with each other.
"Good morning, Alpha and Luna." They greeted us together.
"Good morning, you lovebirds. How was Alvin yesterday, Tessa? Did he let you down? I heard from the gossip website that Alvin seemed to suffer from premature ejaculation," I teased.
"Hey, that was a lie! Tell them, Tessa!" Alvin hurriedly explained.
"Well, he is a famous playboy, after all.I don't think he would be famous with the ladies if he often ejaculates prematurely." Tessa rolled her eyes.
"Hey, your jokes are starting to hurt." Alvin pouted.
The three of us laughed together.
David then came over and said that the elders wanted to see us.
Important guests were coming to visit today.
Then we headed to the southwest wing of the Maple House, where the reception area would be.
At sunset, these important guests had finally showed up.
They arrived together, all donning matching black coats.
Somehow, I had caught a whiff of a familiar scent.
The two men in black took off their cloaks at the same time and neatly placed them on the table nearby.
One of them was a tall man with fair skin.
His structured face seemed to be a statue carved out of marble.
Anyone could have mistaken him for a movie star.
He had the handsomeness of someone like Tom Cruise.
It felt awkward staring at him for too long.
Something inside me told me that he looked somewhat familiar, but I couldn't remember why.
The elder middle aged man also had fair skin, and he looked like Al Pacino.
When his eyes fell on me, he looked like he was about to cry.
A name had finally popped up in my mind.
"Uncle...Phillip? Uncle Phillip, it is you!" Tears welled up in my eyes.
I immediately ran over to him and wrapped him in an embrace.I finally knew why his scent was so familiar.
His cologne had made me nostalgic.
"Well, well. My Princess Serena is all grown up now." Uncle hugged me back, sniffling.
"Peter, you didn't tell me that the guest was my uncle!" I wiped my tears and pouted at Peter.
"Hey, don't look at me.I just found out about this today, " Peter shrugged his shoulders, trying to look innocent.
"Phillip is actually our old friend. He has been inquiring about your whereabouts for quite some time now.We had no idea that he was your uncle until we asked.Serena, since you are still learning how to control your powers...I thought your Uncle Phillip could help you, so I made the decision to invite him here,"
Steve explained.
"Steve, my old friend. We didn't arrive too late, did we?"
Phillip gave a friendly hug to Steve.
"Long time no see, indeed.Well, welcome to Red Maple Pack.Let me introduce them to you. This is Alpha Peter, and his mate, Serena. This is James, the father of the Alpha. This is..."
Steve went on, introducing them one by one.
"Nice to meet you all," Uncle greeted everyone with a warm smile.
He then turned to me.
"Serena, I never expected to see you again.Ever since your vampire bloodline was sealed, I couldn't feel your existence anymore.I thought you were dead. But not long ago, I sensed a strong feeling that you were still alive.Edward and I kept asking around until we finally found you.Thank heavens that you are still alive,"
Uncle Phillip wrapped me in another hug.
I realized that Uncle Phillip had mentioned the man with him.
"So, this is Edward?" I glanced at the young man who stood beside Uncle Phillip.
"Yes, he is.All these years, Edward has missed you greatly.Once he found out that you were still alive, he was the one who was so insistent on looking for you.Even more persistent than me,"
he said, finally letting go of me.
