Chapter 169
“This room used to belong to my father, so it holds a lot of memories of my late mother,” Alpha Calhoun began to explain. “Everything here is very sacred to me, which is why I don’t allow anyone in here.”
Daisy looked around. She had never seen a room with so much. It was huge, like any Alpha’s room, but it had a mysterious look at first glance.
The bed, chandelier, and everything else were normal, but there were more wardrobes and doors than usual.
“Until you came, I used to do the cleaning myself. I don’t know why I’m trusting you with this, but if you let me down, I will kill you,” he said seriously.
Daisy was only searching for the man who had left an impression on her. The first impression she had of Alpha Calhoun did not match the man, though he had all the physical features.
“I am not ungrateful to the Alpha who gave me a home and a job. I can see you haven’t cleaned in a while.”
She swiped her finger on the vanity dressing table, which looked rather feminine, and a little dust remained on her finger. Alpha Calhoun had a regretful look in his eyes that Daisy could not quite pinpoint. “I’ve been busy, and if I can’t clean like I haven’t done in a few days, then I sleep in the Luna’s chamber. I can’t just let anyone in here.”
But he let Daisy in here. It was just her first day, and she got that privilege. Daisy knew that neither of them could recognize the bond, but there could still be a connection, except.
“With your whores,” Daisy said under her breath, but he seemed to have heard it.
“Excuse me?” His expression was not welcoming, and Daisy forced a smile.
“Nothing.”
Unfortunately for her, he heard everything clearly. “Well, I heard you, and mind you, I don’t let any woman in there either. It’s just that that place is easier to clean. Everyone else is limited to the playroom, which you refused to clean.”
Daisy felt nauseated at the sight of it. Women were not just objects of pleasure. “And I won’t change my mind. Let me begin cleaning here.”
That would help her begin her search for the crescent moon pendant, but Calhoun had another request.
“What about my food?”
Forcing a smile, she asked him, “What do you like?”
He picked up a small notepad and gave it to her.
“Here. It’s handwritten, but you should be able to read it. My likes and dislikes. One more thing. Every one of these three rooms has a bath. I mostly use the one in the other room, and since you won’t clean it, you should prepare my bath in the Alpha’s chamber before training is over every morning.” H
Daisy never missed training at the pack, except on her birthdays and special occasions. “Do I get to join training?”
“That would take almost half a day, so how would you have time for other things? Besides, you are not yet a pack member. You have to pass your probation before I introduce you to the pack.”
Daisy’s lips pursed in deep thought, not knowing which was better, but she could still train on her own. “It’s alright. I don’t like physical activities anyway,” she said in annoyance. Calhoun chuckled.

“And yet you were able to almost outrun me.”
It wasn’t almost. If she knew the pack house, he would not be able to catch up to her. Daisy, though the princess of the Dark Moon pack, was trained the hard way.
“Assuming a lion invades this pack, don’t you think that even a sick person would run from their sick bed if they are not allowed to shift?” She tried to disprove Calhoun’s suspicions of her, but it did not seem to be working as he warned seriously.
“If I find out that you are hiding something, don’t blame me for what I would do to you. But for now, I will go have my bathe, and these are the keys to everywhere you have access to. My food should be ready before my return.”
He gave her a bunch of keys she went to keep in her room before going to the kitchen with the notepad he gave her. How funny that he loved salmon dishes. She decided to make him Salmon salad, toast, and coffee, which were all in the book.
Checking out the groceries, some apples in the fridge caught her eye, and as a lover of apples, she snacked on one before she began with the salad.
“What are you doing?” A familiar voice asked behind her. It was Linda, but Daisy was annoyed by the question and retorted rather sarcastically.
“There are groceries in front of me. Does it look like I’m going to bleach them?”
Linda’s face twisted with a frown. Aurora was not as simple as she looked. “You are so rude.”
“What is your son’s condition?” Daisy asked while dicing some vegetables.
“It’s not your business,” Linda answered with irritation, but as the oldest woman she had met so far, Daisy felt she might be the only one to have the answers she needed.
“What if I can help him get better?” She asked. Linda foresaw that she wanted something. It was always the order around here.
Most of the Call girls bribed her to put in a word for them to be with the Alpha when it wasn’t their turn.
“What do you have to gain?” If Aurora could help her child get better, she wouldn’t rely on taking money from those call girls anymore and could regain some self–respect. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“That you him.
tell me more about your Alpha,” Daisy said directly. She had to know if there was someone else who looked like
“Are you a spy?” Linda asked, treading with caution, but Daisy simply answered.
“What other way to serve him than to know him?” She shrugged as she began to work on the salmon.
Linda was thinking about the deal when a rude voice interrupted them.
“Hey new girl, Aurora, right? If you are cooking, you should cook for us too.” This face was different from all the ones Daisy had seen earlier.
Due to how Alpha Cal had allowed Aurora into his chamber, Linda knew that he had a liking for her and decided to warn the call girl.
“Sandra, she is the Alpha’s personal maid. Go make your food.”
Due to familiarity and for Sandra being the one whom Linda took money from the most, there was no drop of respect in her for Linda.
“Out of my face. Isn’t it time for you to leave? Or did you forget that you owe me a lot of money?”

Pain flashed in Linda’s eyes. “What do
you want?”
Sandra took–hurried steps towards her and yelled. “Get out and let me deal with her.” Linda left obediently as Sandra faced Daisy. “Hove pasta.”
“Sure, I will make you some, Daisy readily agreed with a smile that did not reach her eyes.
It surprised Sandra that Aurora was not as stubborn as she expected, but only if she knew what Aurora had in mind.
She prepared both dishes together, serving Sandra first. “Enjoy it, and I will be ready to serve you more.”
She quickly carried the Alpha’s food out of the kitchen to the dining table, surprised to see him sitting there reading a newspaper with an impatient look on his face.
“Breakfast is late,” he grumbled. Usually, he would have special catering service deliver his meals but strangely, he was interested in Aurora’s cooking.
Daisy wanted to tell him that his bath was faster than she thought when screams were heard from the kitchen. A coy smile lined Daisy’s lips when Alpha Calhoun went to check, as she followed him but kept a distance.
Nobody messes with Daisy. She could be as sweet as honey and also as poisonous as a snake.
Author’s note:
Please note that Daisy’s story has many surprising twists. At some point, you will also learn about Charlotte and Tom’s child. Patience is key, and you won’t be disappointed when everything falls into place.
