Sheridan withdrew her hand as if his hold burned her. Her expression was stern. She had lived with him
under the same roof for six months, yet she had never even entered his room. Not once did he even
pretend to like her, and now he wanted to go back to being what? His wife?
“I think you are drunk. You should go home,” Sheridan said, finding everything so ridiculous. The thing
about her was, the moment the divorce was finalized, she knew there was no turning back.
She turned to leave, but Alpha Nick was quick to grab her by the arm, his lips smashing onto hers. When she saw the video of what happened, she thought it was because they had both been drugged, as Alpha Nick had never shown her affection before.
Sheridan’s eyes widened with shock as she tried to break free, but Alpha Nick only deepened the kiss, his tongue forcefully exploring her mouth, his arms tightly wrapped around her waist and not willing to let go. Not until a strong slap jolted him back to reality.
His cheeks burned from the hot slap Sheridan had just given him as she wiped her lips with the back of hér hand, feeling embarrassed and ashamed.
“Look at me very well. I am not Charlotte.” Her voice was teary as so many emotions blended together. The fact that she had been caught up in a one–sided love for so long. “I would not have you disrespect
me in my own pack.”
Alpha Nick was offended by her remark, as his thoughts were far from what she was thinking. He sounded sincere. “I’m not disrespecting you, Sheila. I love you, but I was just blinded by the bond.”
Sheridan knew that no one could fight the bond, but Charlotte? Everyone could see how manipulative she was except Alpha Nick. “Blinded? She rejected you, she?” Sheridan asked, feeling that
didn’t nothing would make Alpha Nick turn his back on Charlotte unless she indeed rejected him.
Alpha Nick’s gaze darkened as he recalled the state in which he saw Charlotte and Tom at the gala awards night. “No. But I know everything going on between her and Tom,” Alpha Nick revealed, unable to hide it anymore. “You knew it too but hid it from me,” he accused her.
Sheridan let out a bitter smile, feeling like the replacement bride she was. Alpha Nick would only come

“So that is why you came. You are using me to while away time until you find your second chance mate.”
Pain rested on Alpha Nick’s face from her words. How could she even think like that? “No. If you give me
another chance, it would be only you,” he said sincerely, his gaze unwavering. Sheridan had already put everything behind her, not intending to make a U–turn.
Her only focus at the moment was her pack and her business, nothing more. “We are already divorced,
and I don’t go back to my vomit.”
Alpha Nick felt she was right. It was too soon to remarry her. But before then, he just needed the opportunity to prove to her how much he needed her.
“You don’t need to marry me, but I see the fire of vengeance in your eyes. Come back to the pack and
let’s get revenge on the people who destroyed us.”
Sheridan shook her head as she took a step back, recalling the promise she made to her father. “I destroyed myself when I decided to pursue you despite knowing I wasn’t your mate. I was infatuated with you when you saved me back then in the woods.”
Alpha Nick recalled years ago when he saved an injured girl in the woods. “It was you? Sherry?” The name had never even rang a bell throughout his hearing it at the gala awards. Strangely, he never saw
her again.
Now he felt guiltier. Sheridan never took advantage of him like he thought. She was just madly in love
and didn’t know how to show it.
“Yes. I stalked you for years, and just when I almost gave up, I saw you stranded on your wedding day when I was trying to escape from some assassins.” She left out the part about Charlotte sending them find your second chance mate.” Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
She felt a slashing pain in her heart at her own words, but it was for the best. She would never go

He removed the earring from his suit pocket and showed it to her. “I promise that things would be
different this time.”
Sheridan tried to snatch the earring from his hand, resulting in her getting trapped in his arms. She
couldn’t throw the other one away, which would always remind her of where the other was.
Alpha Nick wanted her to think about him every time she thought about her precious earring.
“You are a respecter of the mate bond. Forgive Charlotte and move on with your life. I already moved
on, and there is no turning back. I’m sorry, Nick, but you can keep the earring. It’s over between us,”
Sheridan said solemnly. She didn’t try to wiggle out of his arms, but her cold glare was enough warning.
Unfortunately, it was not enough to scare a man like Alpha Nick. “Sheila, I would never give up on you. I
would keep coming to this pack every day until you give me a suitable answer.”
Sheridan was afraid of that resolve, as her father was not aware that she had been married before. As
such, she tried to discourage him. “Be careful, or you might be in trouble with my brothers.”
Alpha Nick was not afraid of her brothers. If he had to fight an army to get to her, he was ready to do so. “Sheila, what can I do to win you back?” He pulled away to have a better look at her face. Even with her
expression cold, she was still a stunner.
“It’s too late for that. I loved you too much and made too many sacrifices. I can’t do it anymore.” Sheila
was ruthless with her words, but Alpha Nick felt he deserved it as he used to be worse towards her.
“But you haven’t found your mate. What if I become your mate?” He asked with hope. For as long as
Sheila remained unmated, he stood a great chance.
* Sheridan had learned from experience, having no intention of fighting the mate bond anymore. “If it so
‘happens that way, then we can have this talk again, but as for now, it’s over between us,” she said
solemnly.
Alpha Nick found hope. He wanted to torture Charlotte and Tom for a while before rejecting her. Who knows, Sheila might just be his second chance mate, as he felt that she was still in love with him.
“Alright, give me your number, or I would come here every day to see you,” he said seriously. Sheridan smiled a little, happy for them to part on a friendly note.

“I will call you. I promise,” she smiled and said. Alpha Nick drew closer and kissed her on the forehead.
She didn’t resist this time, and his heart warmed a little.
“I believe you.”
Sheridan did not want to get used to the love he was showering on her. “Goodbye, Alpha Nick. Please don’t come here again.” Her words were ruthless, but there was a genuine smile on her face.
Alpha Nick did not agree, but neither did he refuse. It was enough that they were not at loggerheads. He
left the Moon Shine Pack in tears, unknown to Sheridan, not having returned her earring.
The loss was so hard on him. It was as if his soul left his body. The only emotion he felt was regret.
Reaching the pack house, it was late, but there was a storm. As he entered the pack house, he heard screams. It was Charlotte. Her fears of thunder must have kicked in, and unfortunately, there was a
power cut.
Beta Dustin met him halfway. “Alpha, we have a problem.”
