MISTAKE 199
Chapter 199: Attacked back.
Stella’s phone started to ring. It was her ride calling her. She had ordered a taxi.
“I will be right down,” she said and walked around James downstairs.
“The rest of my things can be sent later when my team contacts you,” she said as she went down the stairs with James trailing behind her, looking slightly lost. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
“I am sorry. I didn’t intend for it to happen this way,” James begged but Stella kept walking.
“Stella please,” he held her hand to stop her from moving
“One question. Did you use me as bait?” she asked.
“No. I didn’t. There was a mistake and the team thought you were bait. Stella, please,” he begged.
Stella felt her anger reduce greatly. Right then, she received a call from her daughter, Emma. “Mom, where are you?” Emma asked.
“I…” Stella hesitated.
“She is probably with dad,” Stella heard Anya say in the background.
“Are you with dad?” Emma asked.
“Yes, I am with your father right now,” Stella answered, glancing at James who immediately straightened.
His daughter was on the line.
“Alright, as long as you are safe. Don’t disappear like that again,” Emma said.
“Alright,” Stella answered and ended the call. She did not want to scare them by telling them she had been abducted from the hospital.
She glanced at James and walked back upstairs. Only then did he let out a breath.
After making sure their mother was fine, Anya went off to Join Daniel. They were travelling to another branch for work because Daniel refused to let her leave his side.
He said she could act as his secretary and work with the marketing department. Anya was hesitant but in a few weeks, she had even made some new friends which made her happy.
But good things don’t last as the head of HR, Mr Leslie tried to query her and Anya WAS NOT having it. Not in her husband’s company.
An argument broke and the head of HR broke a vase in anger, injuring Anya.
The news quickly made it’s way to Daniel
Daniel paused when his secretary sald this. “In It Cent Magazine?” Daniel asked and his secretary nodded.
“Who was injured?” he asked and his assistant was taken aback. Daniel had a feeling that Anya was the one injured. His secretary rushed over that very moment,
“The police has arrested the head of HR, Mr. Halton. They say he attacked an employee from the magazine and she is being taken to the Bospital this very moment,” his head secretary, Cynthia said.
“Both of you, Come with me. The rest stay back and deal with this matter,” he ordered and entered the elevator.
Daniel’s secretaries, Levi and Cynthia glanced at each other. The boss was angry and
something told them it had nothing to do with the arrest done. They glanced at each other and looked away.
They had never seen the boss this angry. They knew best to obey when he was this pissed. When they discovered it was his wife who was injured, they became more on edge. They obeyed and quietly went down with him. Levi got in the driver’s seat and Cynthia opened the door for him to sit.
Daniel sat in the back as he did not think he was calm enough to drive at this moment. He was still calling Anya’s phone but she was not picking up, making him more panicked as time passed.
She was too far away and he could not reach her fast enough. This was driving him crazy.
“To the hospital,” he instructed his secretary, Levi.
“Hospital?” Levi asked.
“Where was the staff taken? We are going there,” he instructed as Levi started the car and drove off.
Cynthia immediately got on the phone with the assistant head of HR. she had been informed
that she had followed the ambulance with another staff.
“Where are you?” she asked.
“Miss Smith, I am at a hospital right now, a staff got…” the assistant head of HR started to say.
“I know. Which hospital?” Cynthia cut her off.
“First City,”
She relayed the information to Levi and he made for that direction.
“Step on it,” Daniel said impatiently and Levi increased their speed.
“Tell me what happened,” he instructed Cynthia.
Cynthia nodded and started relaying what she knew of the incident. The more she talked the darker Daniel’s face got.
In the hospital, Anya was accompanied by the Assistant head of Human resources, Mrs. Daniels and Kelly to the emergency room.
The doctors worked quickly to attend to Anya.
The porcelain that Mr Hamilton had thrown had splattered all over the place and some of it had sliced her feet.
Soon it was clear that she needed stitches. Anya was in pain as her eyes watered because of her aching wound. Her face was pale as sweat sat on her forehead.
“How did she get injured?” a doctor asked.
“Ceramic was thrown at her feet,” Kelly explained.
“We will need to make sure there are no shards in her feet,” he said and they rolled Anya away. It did not take long for them to finish with her.
As Kelly and Mrs. Daniels came to her side to hear what the doctor had to say, she heard a
familiar voice call to her in shock.
“Anya?” she looked in the direction of the voice to see a familiar face. Her Ex, Andrew, who
Kelsey was currently engaged to.
What was he doing here? The moment she thought of this, she wondered if this was one of his family’s hospitals?
Was he interning?
“Why are you here? Did you get injured?” he asked stepping forward, only for Kelly to block his path.
Andrew was slightly pissed at Anya about the fight in the restaurant. But he saw her reaction that day as a declaration that she was not over him. This stroked his ego greatly.
But before he could step forward, Kelly blocked his way.
Kelly was a friend Anya had from work. She and Emily, another friend Anya made knew about her history with Andrew, because Anya did not want to expose she wad married to Daniel so, stuck to talking shit about her family. How did Kelly recognize him? Andrew came from a prestigious family. Keely blocked his way. Clearly, she was not going to let him through.
“I have anger issues and a black belt. One of them is about to crack your skull if you take one more step,” she said. Her words may not have been loud, but the doctors around heard.
Andrew was a shareholder’s son. They all knew him. They were not sure the relationship between him and the patient, but they had work to do.
