Chapter 45
Chapter 45
After Ava had vented her anger in the nanny car downstairs, she saw Derek walk out of the Xavier
Group.
She thought about it, walked over, pretended to be passing by, and said in surprise, "Mr. Xavier?"
Derek was not happy that he was blocked and became even more displeased when he saw that it was
Ava, "What's up?"
"Mr. Xavier, I heard that my sister works here with you, and I don't know if she can do it well. Otherwise,
let me arrange another job for her. The family should always be closer. Otherwise, I'm always worried
about her life."
Ava's voice was very soft, and her expression was a little worried. She had a beautiful and charming
face, and she became particularly delicate and attractive with this slightly pleading expression.
Derek glanced at her but did not feel anything. Instead, he felt a little strange.
If Ava really cared about Meredith, she should have arranged a job for her early. He remembered that
Meredith's last job seemed to be found by Julius.
Derek had always disliked people who only spoke.
"If you really have this idea, tell her yourself and don't come to me."
Derek replied coldly, without looking at Ava's pitiful face, and wanted to leave.
Seeing that he had completely ignored her, Ava was so upset that she quickly followed up with him, "Is
it possible that Mr. Xavier keeps her by your side because she hit you with her car and you want to take
revenge on her? She is wrong, but she was already punished. I really can't bear to see her suffer
anymore."
Couldn't she bear it...
Derek was so smart, and how could he don't know Ava's concern was just on the surface, but in fact,
she wanted to remind him once again that Meredith was the culprit for his three years in a coma. She
was clearly trying to provoke him.
He stopped and glanced at Ava, who was following him. The woman had exquisite makeup and was
graceful. She was beautiful in everyone's eyes, but she made him feel a bit disgusting with her
hypocrisy.
Ava felt the man's dark and deep eyes land on her, like a deep, bottomless, mysterious, and
enchanting water.
Unknowingly, she blushed.
"Mr. Xavier..." Subconsciously, Ava lowered her head in a soft voice, looking like a shy little woman.
"I suddenly feel that maybe some of the things I knew before were not the truth, such as... The kind
and generous second miss of the Masons was not as simple and kind as she showed."
Derek glanced at Ava's shy and timid expression, a hint of disdain on the corner of his lips showed up.
And then, he took a step away from her and walked straight to the car parked not far away.
Ava thought that Derek was interested in her when he looked at her, but she didn't expect to hear such
words. Her whole body trembled, and then she returned to her car with a gloomy face.
"Damn Derek, how dare you do this to me!"
Ava was used to enjoying the superiority of being held in the palm of men's hands. Derek was the first
person to ignore and disdain her like this.
"Mom, he really seems to have some doubts about me. What should I do? My secret can't be found
out. That bitch Meredith can't stay by Derek's side anymore. I have a feeling that she's going to ruin my
life."
The more Ava thought about it, the more anxious she became. She was about to cry. Clara glanced at
her daughter who she was proud of and said, "Don't worry. Mom will do everything to not let that RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
bastard destroy you. She can only be a stepping stone to your feet."
...
Back at the Masons, Clara said wrongly that how Ava's endorsement had been screwed up, and that it
was all Meredith's fault.
Meredith was working at the company, and now she was in a pretty good mood. Ava's endorsement
blew up, so she probably wouldn't dare to come over again in a short time.
At this moment, Wesley's phone call came.
"What is it?" Meredith's tone was extremely cold. She knew it clearly that Wesley must not have come
to greet her, but to stand up for Ava.
"Meredith, you are so despicable in retaliating against your sister. Do you really think that you climbed
into Derek's bed and you'll become someone special to him? You're just a toy."
Meredith sneered. Although she knew that Wesley would not be able to say anything nice, it was
probably rare for a father to say such things about his daughter.
"Yeah, so what? Do you have the ability to go to Derek and change his mind? You can only vent your
anger on me. Please be careful of yourself and don't let it ruin your own body."
"You go get Derek to change his mind and let Ava continue to endorse!" Wesley was so angry that he
choked on his chest and roared.
"Am I just a toy that climbs Derek's bed? How could I have the ability to change his mind? Besides, he
didn't let Ava endorse because she doesn't fit the company's position,"
"I think, rather than yelling at me, you might as well be careful to maintain Ava's persona and not let
anyone find out what an ugly soul is underneath her body."
After that, Meredith hung up the phone with a sneer.
Wesley was so angry that he wanted to curse, but he couldn't do anything about Meredith. He didn't
know when the daughter he had once manipulated became more and more difficult to control.
...
After work, when Meredith got home, Derek was not back yet. So she was in a rare good mood. This
was the first time since she came out of prison that she had completely torn off Ava's dignity.
Although it couldn't be done without Derek, it caused Ava some pain after all.
Meredith narrowed her eyes and was about to take a shower to relax when her phone vibrated again.
There was a picture of a woman lying on a hospital bed, thin and haggard. Her body was filled with
tubes and only her eyes were wide open. There were an obvious stubbornness and unwillingness in
her eyes.
Meredith's hand trembled, and she almost couldn't hold her cell phone. The woman on it was haggard,
but that was her mother!
Three years ago, her mother was sent to the ICU, and she went to prison. She never saw her mother
since then.
Meredith had asked the Masons many times about her mother's whereabouts, but they all rejected her
on the grounds that her mother was fine, that she didn't need Meredith's care, that she might cause
trouble, and so on.
And Meredith didn't have the strength to look for her mother abroad, so she had to wait and see.
"What do you mean? What do you want to do?" Meredith calmed down and immediately called Clara.
This woman won't do anything meaningless. She must have no good intention.
"I thought you didn't care about your mother anymore. If you don't come to the Masons this weekend,
you know the consequences."
