Not Believing Her
Chapter 44 Not Believing Her
“Do you think it would work? The Sanchez brothers are as ruthless and dangerous as you Ramos.” Carlos asked.
“Well, you don’t send a man to do a woman’s job,” Ramos said.
“All I have to do is send Raven to them, let her use everything in her power that includes selling her body to get information from them and I’ll use that information to end them.”
“But, will she accept your proposal?” Carlos asked.
“I have my ways, Carlos. She won’t dare defy me.” Ramos said.
“You on the other hand… I’m releasing you…. Have had a change of heart.” He said with a cunny grin. “You can go now.” He said opening the gate for Carlos to come out.
Carlos walks out slowly wondering why Ramos decided to release him all of a sudden. Everyone knows that Ramos doesn’t just release anyone without a reason.
“Why…. Are you letting me go….? Carlos asked his voice shaking.
“You may think I am a heartless, cruel man, but I’m not a monster,” Ramos said, his voice low and threatening. “I know you care about your daughter and want to do everything to save her. So I’m giving you a chance to save your precious daughter.
If you can get to her on time, you can save her if not then… She dies!”
Carlos stood there, dumbfounded. “Why are you doing this? I begged you that I’ll do anything you ask of me, but leave my family alone. I even agreed to handle the Sanchez brothers but now you are changing your words. Why?” Carlos asked, his eye filled with fear and anger.
“You see, no one tells me what to do or not to do. The very moment you begged me to leave your family alone…. I decided that I don’t wanna!” Ramos said.
“You see, Carlos, I want to prove a point to you,” Ramos said, a cruel smile playing on his lips. “You see, I’m not the only heartless, cruel man out there. I want to show you how the world works, and how you and your family aren’t as safe as you think you are. I want to make you understand that no one, and I mean no one, is invincible.”NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
Carlos felt a chill run down his spine as he realized what Ramos was saying. He was right – in this world, no one was truly safe.
“So here is what I am offering you,” Ramos said, a glint of malice in his eyes. “You will go back to the Sanchez brothers, and you will deliver the message I have for them. You will not tell them who sent the message, but you will do exactly as I say. If you do not, then I will kill your daughter, and your whole family will suffer.”
Carlos’s blood ran cold as he realized the impossible situation he was in. On one hand, he could refuse to deliver the message, and risk the lives of his family.
On the other hand, he could deliver the message, but then he would be risking his own life. Ramos was a man of his word, and if he didn’t follow through, he knew that the consequences would be dire. He was caught between a rock and a hard place, with no easy way out.
“You have one day to make your decision,” Ramos said, his voice cold and hard. “One day to decide the fate of your family. Choose wisely, Carlos, because there is no going back.”
With that, Ramos turned and walked away, leaving Carlos alone in the darkness.
Carlos stood there, rooted to the spot, his mind racing. What was he going to do? What would be the best course of action? He felt torn, his heart and his head at war with each other. He loved his daughter, and he didn’t want to risk her life. But if he didn’t deliver the message, what would happen to the rest of his family? He didn’t know what to do.
Finally, he made his decision. He would do what he had to do to protect his family, no matter the cost.
Just then, Raven found her way to Carlos’s prison. Carlos saw her and was wondering what she was doing there since he saw that she was part of the people who killed his men and captured him.
“What are you doing here?” Carlos asked.
“Listen to me, whatever Ramos tells you to do, don’t do it.” She warned.
“Why should I listen to you? You work for him. It might all be part of his game. To make me go against him and then kill my family. I’ll do what he asked me to do.” Carlos said.
“I know, I was there but I didn’t kill any of your men. I’m a prisoner here just like you. I overheard your conversation with him and I know he is planning on using me as a tool to get what he wants from the Sanchez brothers.
I want to help you get out of here, but you have to trust me.” Raven said.
“Listen, young lady… I don’t trust anyone… And besides, I have known Ramos that when he threatens to hurt your family, he doesn’t bluff about it.” Carlos said.
