Chapter 2732
I made my way to Yard Group with the documents covering the first project contract with Grant Corporation. My plans would be too obvious otherwise.
When I saw Sylvester, I handed him the contract. "This is the first project. Do have a look at it, President Yard."
He accepted the documents and carefully reviewed the contents of the documents.
Sylvester was still wary of this partnership with Grant Corporation. It was not difficult to tell based on his focused expression.
What should I say to sound casual?Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
Just then, Sylvester's secretary came in with a stack of documents in their arms. "President Yard, these are the old documents the former President Yard left in his office. Where should I put them?"
"Do you even need to ask me about something so trivial? Just put them in the cabinet. These old documents are basically useless."
Judging from Sylvester's tone, he really did not like Silas very much and was showing it a bit too obviously.
It looked like he was being so arrogant and wanton because Silas had gone abroad and was no longer present.
I watched the secretary leave before I spoke up. "Is the girl new?"
"Yes. I hired new secretaries. She probably just graduated from college," Sylvester answered me disapprovingly.
A slight smirk made its way onto my lips and I said a little playfully, "Silas just left and already you're replacing the personnel with such great fanfare? Aren't you afraid of being discovered?"
There was an obvious flicker in Sylvester's expression before the corners of his lips hooked upwards. "It's not a big deal. The company has a high turnover rate, to begin with. He won't know as long as no one leaks it." He looked confident, but where was he getting that confidence from?
"Silas has managed the company for so many years, does he not have his henchmen here?" I asked back.
I was not worried that Sylvester would think I was asking too much since I was continuing his line of conversation.
"Even if there were, the high and mighty emperor was far away. He won't be able to do anything about it."
Sylvester's light tone made me feel that something was a little off.
Probably noticing my confusion over this, Sylvester added, "At most, he'll just call and give me a lecture. He's been lecturing me for so many years, a few more are nothing."
He had been lecturing him for many years. It seemed Silas was quite strict with Sylvester. He probably also did not expect Sylvester to have such prejudice toward him. "Aren't you afraid that he might suddenly come back?"
"He won't." Sylvester practically blurted out.
Grabbing that answer, I asked, "Why not?"
Sylvester paused but then smiled indifferently. He initially decided to go abroad because he needed to recuperate. How could he come back so easily without
accomplishing that? He's already lived till this age. He probably
doesn't want to interfere with other
things anymore."
I nodded and asked nothing further.
"Alright, this project is fine. Help me give my reply to President Grant that Yard Group will try its best to cooperate." Sylvester closed the document and crossed his arms on
the table calmly. en
"Alright. I'll let him know. Then, I won't disturb you anymore."
I got up and left the office.
Sylvester seemed certain that Silas has gone broad...
Several very young girls dressed professionally were walking toward the secretariat.
"It's so tiring to sort out Chairman Yard's documents. It's more than twenty years of documents. I wonder why President Yard asked us to sort them?" "Who knows? It feels like Chairman Yard won't be coming back anymore. President Yard would probably be in charge of the company in the future." "I think so."
Sylvester had asked them to sort out the archived documents going back twenty years.
I frowned. What was Sylvester's objective for doing this?
No, I came here to confirm if Silas had gone abroad and now it seemed like there was no more doubt about this.
There were, however, many more in other aspects.
