Chapter 233 The Underground Network
Chapter 233 The Underground Network
The casino could only cut fingers that would be connected if the fingers were collected timely and kept
properly. But she would die for betraying the secret.
"The Underground Network?"
Robert and Pearl looked at each other and saw the shared surprise.
The Underground Network was a criminal organization, which belonged to no country.
They did all things: drug trafficking, weapons, organs, population, etc. As long as there was a need,
they would do business.
It was a monstrous and mysterious underground industry chain.
If the Cart's had something to do with it, they would not only be drugs dealers. Things would become
astonishing!
"I have evidence. It is absolutely true."
Ada could tell that Pearl was interested.
Anyway, the more she knew, the faster she would die. She just wanted to say what she knew and win
some money.
Ada acted shamelessly. She refused to mention anything before she saw the money.
It didn't depend on her willingness but her life.
"One million."
Pearl thought about the value of the news and answered Ada with exceptionally resolute.
One million was enough to go abroad to hide. Moreover, Ada had been married to a wealthy man for
many years, so she must have savings.
It was Pearl's final deal. Otherwise, Ada might be suspicious. She was not very reliable.
"Alright, one million it is."
Ada wanted more, but when she saw Pearl's expression, she hesitated and agreed.
She was destined to spread this news. After all, even she sold herself, she would not be able to pay the
debt she owed to Pearl.
"The backer behind the casino is the Carts, but I suspect there is someone behind the Carts."
"My brother has gambled here for at least three to four years," said Ada after the deal was settled.
Ada rarely came to the casino. The first few times she had been here was to pay his debt.
"Pearl, do you remember the time you gave me eight million? Not long after, I came to the casino for
his usury."
She saw her brother there.
"I was furious. I'd just paid that big sum of money for him. How could he! If he was not lucky, he should
not gamble!"
Taking off her high heels, she held them and chased after her brother.
In the corner of the first floor, there was an elevator.
"I saw my brother go upstairs. I thought it would be faster to take the elevator."
Ada entered the elevator, which suddenly darkened.
Then it descended rather than ascend.
It was only a dozen seconds, or perhaps even shorter. The elevator stopped underground.
It was large but gloomy. One could vaguely see blur figures.
Ada wanted to find someone to ask for the way, but she heard a woman scream.
That voice was ear-piercing and extremely terrifying. When she tried to listen carefully, there was
nothing.
Ada suspected that she had an illusion.
"The casino has an underground?"
Daisy remembered that the elevator only reached the first floor. There was not even a parking lot.
Every time she came, she had to park the car nearby.
The so-called underground casino was not underground but a private club.
"It's true. There is an underground first floor. Moreover, that place is very, very big. Perhaps it is the
second floor of the underground?"
Ada wasn't sure. In short, that place was dark and lack of fresh air.
There were small houses like train containers, lined up in a row.
Ada was hiding in a corner. She knew it was dangerous.
She was not lucky, but her intuition was one of the best. She didn't move then.
"After a while, I saw the elevator move. A man with several yellow-haired women showed up."
The woman was tied but struggled, but all her efforts failed.
Then, Ada witnessed a deal.
An old man bought the woman. He wore a mask, so I couldn't see his face.
The woman was pulled into the container nearby where Ada was, and then, there were loud bangs
inside.
"I could hear her crying at the beginning, although it was unclear. There should be soundproof
equipment inside."
Ada trembled and did not dare to move.
Not long after, that man came out covered in blood.
Then, two men in masks entered and dragged the woman out like dragging a dead dog.
Ada was almost certain that the yellow-haired woman was dead.
"That woman seems to be a tourist. She suddenly disappeared, and her family put her information in
the missing person column."
Ada took a deep breath, her pupils dilated. She felt an inexplicable fear towards Cart's casino.
Although she couldn't be sure that the Underground Network was led by the Cart's, it must have
something to do with it.
"This is too terrifying!"
Daisy opened Ada's phone. She recorded a video of the woman being dragged out.
"Dead."
Robert glanced at it and frowned.
"I was scared to death. My phone was on the sound mode. If someone had called me, I would have
been exposed. I could not survive then."
There was a call.
Fortunately, Ada's phone was out of credit, so it remained quiet.
Ada also saw the drug trade.
"If they know that I am an insider, I will not be able to live."
Ada crossed her arms uneasily. She regretted.
If the Cart's and Pearl were together, she would die.
"Too terrifying."
Pearl paused for a moment and sighed.
She had been in several casinos and lost a few million. Then someone recommended her to the Cart's
casino. She had just come here twice when she met Ada.
Ada seemed indeed afraid and didn't lie to her.
If the Underground Network meddled in, the thing would become much more complicated.
Pearl had watched a movie, which was related to such kind of organization. As long as there was
money, one could buy anything there.
Human lives were not very valuable. Some people enjoyed torture or even slaughter.
The Underground Network had no humanity, but trading and money.
It had countless branches. It seemed that the branches had long been stretching to City J.
Pearl had only heard of it but had never had connections with it.
"Pearl, the Cart's is not simple. I suggest that you do not go against them."
Ada was still trembling. The key was that she might not even know how she died.
For so long, no one had found the woman's whereabouts. Her family had not given up looking for her.
As a witness, Ada had no courage to step forward. She escaped depending on her good luck.
"I tried to test my brother, but he didn't know that there was the Underground Network." Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Ada realized that she could be there was a big accident.
"Alright, I'll transfer the money to your account. Don't tell anyone about us."
Pearl hesitated and decided to give the money. She believed that without her warning, Ada would not
tell others about this meeting.
If the Cart's was related to the Underground Network, it was not something they could solve
themselves. They would need helpers.
Ada's information gave them a new direction. As long as they uncovered the Underground Network,
they could clear the suspicion of the Duncan Group.
