Chapter 796
Outside the hospital room, Sherilyn stood watch, feeling somewhat out of place after the tense moment that had just unfolded.
"Hey, big brother," she greeted Francis as he emerged, his face etched with concern. "Did you two have a fight?"
Francis managed a wry smile. "You were right, Sherilyn. I couldn't bring myself to be honest with her, and now we're in the worst possible situation." Sherilyn felt at a loss for words.
"You should go in," Francis suggested, nodding towards the room. "Let me know if she needs anything."
"Will do, big brother," Sherilyn replied, nodding before she stepped inside the room.
Inside, Rebecca White was fumbling to get back into her hospital bed.
"Rebecca," Sherilyn approached, helping her settle comfortably. "How are you holding up?"
Rebecca paused and then offered a small smile. "I'm okay, just a bit of a mess up here," she said, tapping her temple lightly.
Then, looking towards Sherilyn, she added, "You knew, didn't you?"
"Yeah," Sherilyn admitted with a nod, her tone apologetic. "I'm sorry, Rebecca. Even though it was my brother's request, I did help to keep things from you."
"It's okay. I don't blame you," Rebecca reassured her, shaking her head. "I know he's your brother. I just don't get what Mr. Francis is up to?"
As she spoke, Rebecca took Sherilyn's hand.
"Isn't he, like, with Caroline?"
"They were, once," Sherilyn explained, patting her hand gently. "But they've been over for a while. I wouldn't have agreed to help my brother hide things from you otherwise."
"Over?" Rebecca seemed shocked, facing another wave of disbelief.
"Weren't they together for like a decade? And super close? Why did they split?"
Sherilyn shook her head. "I'm not sure about the details. Matters of the heart, you know. But yes, they're definitely done."
That was the reason Caroline had turned her sights to Gilbert after the breakup.
"But then. Rebecca was flooded
with questions. "Why would Mr.

Sherilyn was surprised. "Rebecca, liking someone doesn't care about any of that."

"Sure, both Francis and Henson have been great to me. Francis seems to like me, but he doesn't make me feel cherished, you know?"
Rebecca was adamant. "Mr. Francis, he doesn't really like me."
So, why was he so nice to her, even hiding his true identity? Was it really as Eddy suggested?
At Neon Nights Bar.
Gilbert hadn't been here in a while, but everything seemed unchanged. The main stage in the center still hosted the nightly main event.

Derek swirled his drink, glancing at the stage, and remarked, "Not even close to Sherilyn's charm, huh?"
"Hey," Yates frowned, shooting him a look. "Zip it, will you?"

Gilbert, lounging back, seemed unfazed. "Nah, she's doing alright."
"This isn't their star performer..."
Yates cut in, "The headliner hasn't shown up yet. The one everyone's raving about these days..."
As they chatted, a rushed figure made his way to them.
"Hey, bro. Derek, Gilbert," Edgar greeted each in turn, loosening his tie and taking a seat, looking slightly worn out.
