Chapter 61
Freya struggled desperately, “Elijah, let go of me!”
Her strength was nothing in front of Elijah, especially when facing an infuriated man. Elijah effortlessly controlled her hands, pressing them tightly above her head.
Freya attempted to use her legs to push away Elijah’s weight, but he quickly thwarted her, using his legs to pin hers down.
Freya was firmly restrained. Her inner fear escalated. It wasn’t her first time being intimate with a man. But this situation was entirely different. The man from that night had treated her very gently.
But…
Elijah was sick!
“If you dare touch me, I’ll accuse you of rape!”
Elijah restrained her chin, almost forcefully trying to dislocate her jaw and crush her bones. He sneered, full of sarcasm and anger. His face, distorted from intense fury, “You can try. See if you can win the accusation.”
As he spoke, he ripped off her nightgown.
A chill ran through her chest. Freya’s eyes welled up with tears in an instant. Her body trembled beneath him.
What did he take himself for?
“Freya, are you still a pure young girl? You’ve had a man, been pregnant, and now all that’s left is a filthy, broken body? Do you think I find that appealing?” He mocked, “I want to see you humiliated, do you know? Seeing you cry, do you know how happy that makes me? Hmm?”
Freya bit her lip, trying to hold back her tears. She didn’t want him to look down on her. She didn’t want to be humiliated. But the tears were disobedient, streaming down her face in large drops. She defiantly lifted her head, “Elijah, what kind of man are you? You only know how to bully women. You’re scum, utterly despicable!”
“I’m scum, utterly despicable, and what are you?” Elijah played with sarcasm, “Are you an unfaithful, promiscuous harlot? Is that what you are?”
Freya’s pupils trembled.
In his eyes, she was a harlot. He seemed to be not entirely wrong. She did betray her marriage. Even if there was no love between them, she failed to uphold loyalty to her marriage. However, for some reason, being insulted with such filthy words, her chest felt tight.
“I don’t deny it,” she rasped, “If you detest me so much, then let me go!”
“You’re dreaming!” Elijah suddenly got up, standing by the bed, looking at her graceful figure, her upper body almost entirely exposed, with only her pants intact.
He towered over her, “Look at yourself now.”
Freya remained motionless, not even attempting to cover herself.
He wanted to see her disheveled and panicking, right?
Yet, she was obstinate. In this disarrayed state, she sat up, her gaze passing below him, “You wouldn’t have any intentions toward a woman like me, would you?”
After saying that, she ridiculed, “You’re just like this!”
Elijah did intend to humiliate her, but in this process, he once again underestimated the allure this woman held over him.
“It seems like you can’t do without men!”
Elijah suddenly bent down, gripping her throat, then roughly attacked her lips.
Freya’s only sensation was pain. Her mouth carried a taste of blood. It was her lips, bitten and marked by him. Freya slowly closed her eyes. In that moment, she felt despair. Tears slid down her face, falling onto Elijah’s hand.
Perhaps her tears were too scalding. Elijah’s hand trembled, and he abruptly released Freya. And he left after gathering his clothes.
Freya was stunned, her thoughts slowly returning. She pulled up the bedsheet, wrapping it around herself. At this moment, her heart ached as if someone had stabbed a sharp knife into her heart.
…
Elijah drove away. His mood was pushed to the extreme. He couldn’t accept that Freya, in her eagerness to leave him, handed herself to Liora.
That woman had a heart of stone. No matter how he covered her, he couldn’t warm that woman’s icy heart. He wanted to vent, feeling stifled to the point of suffocation.
Ironically, when Freya went to the company and inquired about his schedule, he thought she cared about him. However, she only wanted to push him towards Liora Valentine.
Was it just his wishful thinking?Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
When he thought Freya prepared dumplings for him with sincerity, he even ate until he needed digestive pills for the first time in his life.
Was Freya secretly ridiculing him at that time? Mocking him?!
Elijah had never felt so defeated, embarrassed. He had never been played with so thoroughly by a woman.
The car stopped at a bar. He walked in and asked for a private room.
As he was drinking alone, his phone in his pocket suddenly rang. Feeling annoyed, Elijah downed a glass of alcohol before reluctantly answering the call. It was from the person who investigated Freya’s visit to the hospital.
“She went to the hospital to get cold medicine.”
Elijah grunted and hung up the phone. The more agitated he became, the more he seemed to hear about that woman. Everything seemed to be working against him.
He dropped the phone, suddenly remembering Liora’s words.
Liora claimed that Freya desperately wanted to leave him because she had a man waiting for her.
Who was that man?
Orion was close to Freya.
Maybe Orion Russo knew?
Thinking of this, Elijah dialed Orion’s number. The call was quickly answered. Elijah provided him an address and said, “Hurry up and come.” After that, he hung up.
Orion found Elijah’s request a bit strange. But when he heard the address was a bar, he didn’t dare to delay. He rushed over. Seeing Elijah drinking alone, Orion He stunned. Elijah, who didn’t have a fondness for alcohol, especially when he was usually very restrained, seemed out of sorts today.
Orion closed the door to the private room and walked in, asking, “What’s wrong? Are you in a bad mood?”
Elijah handed him a cup, filled with alcohol, “Come over and have a drink with me.”
Orion wasn’t good at drinking, but at this moment, he couldn’t refuse.
“Alright.”
He sat down and clinked glasses with Elijah. The alcohol burned his throat.
“It only brings more sorrows.” Orion advised.
Elijah lazily leaned against the sofa, the collar of his shirt open, revealing delicate collarbones. His gaze was indifferent.
“You’re close to Freya Stone. You should know who her man is, right? Tell me.” Said Elijah.
This felt like a trap.
A man Freya Stone didn’t even know, how could he possibly know?
“You brought me here just for this…”
“Cut the crap, get to the point.” Elijah impatiently interrupted.
Orion hesitated.
Elijah’s expression darkened, “What, are you trying to cover for her?”
“No, no,” Orion hastily explained, “Freya doesn’t know who that guy is.”
