Chapter 956: Office Romance
Luna smiled.
She glanced at Elijah, then back at Kai, “Kai is starting to look more and more like his father, because you are your father’s child.”
Kai grinned.
“Alright, alright, this is not the place to talk. They’re tired from the journey, let’s take them back to the hotel first,” Orion said. Luna nodded immediately, “Okay, everyone, let’s get on the car.”
Orion drove the car in front, looking at Elijah through the rearview mirror.
“Elijah, I haven’t tidied up your place. It’s been empty for a long time and too spacious, so I arranged your stay at the hotel. I booked a whole floor just for you. It’s convenient this way,” he explained.
“Okay,” Elijah replied softly.
Kai piped up, “Mr. Russo, I’m hungry.”
Orion chuckled, “We’ll go back and rest for a bit, then we’ll go eat. I’ve already made the arrangements to make sure Kai eats his fill.”
Kai was thrilled, leaning against the window to look outside.
Feeling nostalgic, someone remarked, “It feels like nothing has changed.”
Orion replied, “How long have you been abroad? How could it have changed?”
Moreover, this was a first-tier city with many iconic buildings.
In a city that had already reached its peak development, there wouldn’t be much change. Even if Kai had been abroad for ten or eight years, this city wouldn’t change much.
Freya rubbed her son’s head, “Do you remember how it used to look like here?”
Kai nodded, “Yeah.”
Freya teased, “You were so young back then.”
“I have a good memory,” Kai said, looking proud.
Freya chuckled.
…
Upon arrival at the hotel, their luggage was taken care of by the staff.
Kai was excited, holding Freya’s hand and exploring every corner of the place.
Morton clung to Elijah’s shoulder, his eyes wide with curiosity about everything he saw.
Freya walked behind Elijah, teasing Morton and making him giggle.
Orion had arranged the rooms, and everyone settled in.
Kai jumped onto the bed and said, “Mom, this bed isn’t as comfortable as ours at home, but it’s still soft.”
Freya laughed, “This is a hotel, of course it’s not as cozy as home.”
Kai bounced over to the window and peered outside.
…
Evan and Sacha stayed in the room opposite theirs.
Orion said he booked a whole floor, but it only consisted of three rooms.
Elijah and Freya shared one room with their two kids, Xander had a room to himself, while Evan and Sacha shared the last room.
Every room was a spacious suite, part of Mr. Hargraves’ collection.
Sacha lay on the bed, feeling a bit tired. Evan massaged her legs gently, “Is this better?”
Sacha murmured, “Much better.”
Evan asked, “Why are they swollen?”
Sacha had been on a long flight, her legs were a bit swollen.
She explained, “It’s nothing. I consulted a doctor, it might be due to the long flight. Moving around will help.”
Evan inquired, “Can you walk?”
And move around?
He seriously doubted it.
Sacha wasn’t being dramatic; she truly had no energy to walk.
And she didn’t dare to walk too much.
After all, she had almost miscarried before and ended up hospitalized.
She had to be careful.
“I’ll just rest on the bed. I won’t join you for dinner later,” she said.
Evan nodded, “Alright, I’ll let Orion know that we won’t be coming. I’ll stay in the room and keep you company.”
Sacha sat up, “You can’t just stay with me. Everyone is going to dinner, I’m not going, you should go. I’ll rest here by myself, and you can bring me some food later when you’re done.”
Evan quirked an eyebrow, “When did you become so nice?”
Sacha rolled her eyes, “Am I not always nice to you? When have I ever been unkind to you? Tell me when? Seriously.”
Evan hugged her, “Never, it was just a joke. I know you’re understanding and kind, a great wife.”
He then buried his face in the crook of her neck.
Sacha squirmed from the ticklish sensation.
She pulled away, “Stop it.”All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Evan whispered in her ear, “I just want to hold you.”
Sacha turned around and nestled in his arms.
They lay there intertwined in tranquility.
But this moment of peace was short-lived, as Evan’s phone suddenly rang.
He answered – it was Orion calling.
“We’re at the restaurant, come over,” Orion said.
Evan acknowledged, “Okay.”
After hanging up, Sacha asked, “Are they calling you for dinner?”
Evan nodded, “Yes, I better go.”
He tidied himself up and looked at Sacha, “Are you sure you won’t come?”
Sacha nodded, “Yes, I’m really tired.”
Evan kissed her forehead, “I’ll be back soon.”
Sacha smiled, “It’s okay, I won’t wait for you. I’ll rest for a bit. Don’t worry about me.”
The more understanding she was, the more Evan was moved by her.
Reluctantly, Evan left the room.
At the restaurant, everyone was already there.
Xander teased him, “Having a wife really changes things.”
Evan sat beside him, “Why do I feel like you’re envious?”
“Me, envious?” Xander scoffed, “Come on, I’m carefree as a bachelor…”
“Just look around the table, only you’re alone. Don’t you wonder how it feels to be a dad or a husband? You’ve never experienced anything like that. Isn’t that a pity?” Evan quipped.
Xander pondered for a moment.
“Maybe I should consider it,” he replied.
Evan continued, “Our company has many western beauties. If office romance is allowed, I’ll find one from the company…”
“Absolutely not,” Elijah interjected, “Work is work, and feelings are a separate matter. Don’t mix them.”
Elijah was serious about work.
He wouldn’t allow his staff to engage in romantic relationships in the workplace.
Evan nudged Xander, whispering, “You took that seriously?”
Elijah was very strict about work.
Xander chuckled, “Of course not.”
He leaned towards Evan and whispered, “I was just messing with you. I knew Mr. Silverton wouldn’t allow it.”
He was well aware of the company’s policies.
Dishes were brought to the table one by one.
Evan remarked, “Orion, you’ve gone all out today.”
Orion replied, “You all came from far away to attend my wedding, it’s just proper hospitality. If I didn’t treat you well, would I be honoring your sincere blessings?”
He ordered some wine and poured for everyone, “Thank you all for taking the time out of your busy schedules to attend my wedding. I am truly grateful.”
